10th Kick Off 2 World Cup: Duesseldorf, October 23-24

Post by Oliver St »

For the world cup 2010 that will be held from 22nd to 24th october in Duesseldorf we have booked the following venue.

http://www.cvjm-duesseldorf-hotel.de/english/location.htm

Reservation includes a huge and fully equipped tournament room and 20 rooms for accomodation (10 single rooms, 5 single rooms with kingsize bed and 5 twin rooms).

prices are as follows:

Single:50€ per day
Kingsize: 65€ per day
Twin: 70€ per day

You can optionally purchase a catering flat including a bottle of water, lunch, coffee and cookies for 18€.

Payment will be conducted locally for the attention of Volker.
Currently there are still more rooms available that can be booked if required. So early booking would be advantageous. In case the hotel will be fully booked we would still have the option to find accomodation in the local area (within 5 minutes of walking distance).

The hotel is located next to Duesseldorf main station. Travel details will be provided in the world cup guide which is still to be written by myself.

First of all a very important hint concerning the relevant airports to look out for those who want to book their flight early enough in advance (just like Gianni).

Suggested airports are as follows:

1. Dusseldorf International (DUS) - This is the airport which is located closest to the venue. Transfer by local train will only take you about 15 minutes at a current price of 2,30€. For a taxi you would have to pay round about 20€.

2. Niederrhein (NRN) - It's small airport which will be offered when you fly by Rhyanair. It is 60 kilometres away from the venue. There is a direct bus connection between the airport and Dusseldorf main station that operates all day long. Transfer duration: 1h 15. Transfer costs 14€ one way.

3. Koeln/Bonn (CGN) - This airport offers you almost the same conditions as Niederrhein. At a price of 13€ you can reach the venue by train within 50 minutes.

4. Dortmund (DTM) - This is the farest airport which also requires the longest transfer (1h 30 up to 2h including a change from bus to train, 20-30€ depending on the train). Maybe a cheap flight offer can make up for this inconvenience.

You are now free to confirm your attendance :) .

This is great news Oliver.

What should we do with the other WC topic? Shouldn't we unsticky it or rename it?
Remember, remember, the 4th and the 3rd of November

Yes, you are right. The other 2 topics could be removed as they are not relevant anymore.

Wonderful news, big thanks to all the organizers. I was thinking about the WC this very morning, as I read that there is a direct Jerez - Dusseldorf Air Berlin flight. Let's hope it will still operate in october.

Really great news Oliver :)

A small attachment:
Roomprice includes breakfast of course, and who make a fast pre-selection of a room he likes, get free tickets for the public transport system.
There are also rooms for smokers available 8)

:gban: Now that our government honestly argues about a ban on smoking in my very own car (as well as in others) I'm really delighted to hear that - remembering your smoking frequency you might be too I think
