Not even a mention?!

Post by durban »

Two weeks and not even a single mention of the olympics in the KOA?

how weird is that!

I loved it I thought it was ace, and my Girl Vic got a gold and silver so I'm happy.....

I watched some of the womens football - the final, and the semi + final of the mens. Good stuff. I only really care about football and icehockey.. who's the fastest, strongest etc. doesn't do anything for me.

I gave "super saturday" a small mention, albeit in the music thread, but I know what you mean Mark. Personally I enjoyed the Olympics way more than I expected. I wasn't 'into' the build-up at all, yet from the opening ceremony, I found the event to be thrilling, inspiring and quite moving at times. Brilliant! Love that Elbow music too. And well played Team GB of course!! 8)

Yes I got caught up in it in a big way and so did my girls!

Anyway wish Vic had won 2 golds, but 1 of each is enough for me, we are off out for a meal tomorrow to celebrate...Mel doesn't mind :)

  Yeah, think the whole nation was willing Pendleton to get that second gold, especially after that documentary shown just before the Olympics started. Do you see it? Thought Hoy was solid in his cycling though, as was Wiggins.

The Olympics were great - well done, Brits! Ok, a few minor problems trying to steal medals from the German women. :) But it all got sorted quickly. The atmosphere was amazing, many performances memorable. And outstanding camera work, too.

I completely ignored the first week of the games, but developed some interest after constant moaning in the media due to Austrian athletes chronical non-success. Started to watch some late evening events last week and really started to enjoy it. My personal favourite was the final of the men pole vault, with two Germans putting heavy pressure on the French favourite who still could keep his nerves under control and manage an impressive win. Ladies 100m relay race was another favourite of mine. Interesting to see what peoples bodies might have looked like before we started to degenerete under the benefits of civilization :)
