Once online - do you play like normal - are there options to play against a computer or do you have to wait for players to arrive in the lobby. Can you arrange an online game against anybody who also has it downloaded?

Yes, play like normal. You can practice Vs CPU so no need to wait for anyone else.
Plays just like Amiga apart from the speed of light making inter-continental games a challenge.

I did 3 matches this morning, after a restart of my computer impossible to have an acces on the online
