KOA Wiki

Postby durban » Thu Jun 18, 2015 12:03 pm

Ok,

So I have spent a week trying to get the OLD Wiki to work, its corrupt the files are all out of date nothing works.

I have tried a local version, forcing upgrades, allsorts.

Does anyone have a LOCAL version of the WIKI that works at all, I am not sure who set this up nor who is meant to look after it but I simply cannot fix it.

I have tried.

As it stands the WIKI will not work unless someone has a version that works locally. I have backups of the WIKI Database from 12 months and 2 years ago and even from 2012 but none of them work with any of the currently available 'back releases' of wikimedia!

anyone help?

viewtopic.php?f=21&t=17054 details some previous discussions on this.

I'm assuming this is MediaWiki we are talking about ? The old versions are here http://releases.wikimedia.org/mediawiki/ ? I believe we are on 1.22.1 http://releases.wikimedia.org/mediawiki/1.21/

If you want to forward me a backup I can try locally and report back.

Failing that, let's dump it and move on !

I thought we could rebuild.

i have about 3 versions of it, but from the DB I can't work out which version it is, and most of the actual HTML/PHP files are all over the shop (we have about 4 different directories from installs!)

1.22.1 requires GITHUB to get back up and running I think, i would rather just have a clean install of it and go from there....thanks for at least identifying where we were as I am lost ;)

I will have a go locally at 1.22.1 I am sure I can get the source from somewhere and can provide you access to the backups if you would like a go ;)

No Sir, It is your name which is written in the legendary Scrolls and it is your valiant and fearless exploits which are painstakingly described in said tomes.

The upgrade is basically easy. Easy once you can execute the script directly. Alternatively is can run with a cron job. And the themes is not something to worry about. I think there are two widely used (don't remember the names now) and they are just fine. No need to install new or mess a lot with existing ones. The biggest problem in wiki is the user management. You simply cannot delete users. And we have 10³² chinese spammer accounts (we locked registrations when we found out) and it is very annoying.
