Yeah don't envy the bookers - can be a bit of a mare. Who knows something may crop up. I may win one of those mega mansions in a lottery you see advertised - if so, all round to mine

There is an old Victorian church now a community hub in Bury (Hollins)

I dropped them an email and they have availability on the 17th Sep. For a hire from 1pm - 6pm, the charge would be £75 plus a £50 deposit which would be retuned if the centre is left as found (so no trashing it for the losers)

I doubt going to get a venue as cheap and on the same day

They said I can can a look around if need be.

Looks like a big hall (if that is what the charge is for and not a tiny room lol) and pariking facilities too

Is 1pm to 6pm going to give us enough time?

I can ask for longer

What's ideal time frame you think? I'm off Monday so could have a mooch around

They did send another email saying they have one Ty if tables and chairs but not many plug outlets but can't see a problem if extension cords are provided.

Plus numbers of attendees....

Unable to go tomorrow but its the big hall in the pics - so can see easily enough on FB

The latest they can acommodate is 8pm (so 12-8) that would be £100 rather than £75 (Plus £50 deposit)

Sorry guys in between trips abroad for work and hols, so popping back in. Why don't you look at moving it back a month to early October? If its a one day event I don't see this as a problem for those who want to attend the WC and maybe a bit of competetive practice they would WANT to have before a WC ?
If you can agree on a date I can speak to Rob about attending I am sure he would like to.

£100 if we get 10 people would be ok right?
We can get 10 I would have thought.

There is a slight issue with the 17th for me now tho in that its kinda nearly my Bday and My wife has booked to take me out in the evening, can work around it tho :)

I can go with the flow - if peeps have a date in mind, can ping the people over at that community centre to see if it is available

Unless other venue available at another date?

Noodlebug wrote:I don't think I can find us a suitable venue for 17th. The Premier Inn Piccadilly is all booked up for that date. All the quotes I'm getting for venues visible online are in the hundreds of pounds. I'm not willing to take a risk on a venue that might be cheaper but could turn out to be completely unsuitable. My respect to all of those who have organized tournaments and booked venues in the past, it is not as simple as it appears!

Sorry, guys.

I understand what you mean! and figure out what would be to organise a WC!
