I'm sorry Alkis, but you're too late. I allready used this years 'go crazy'-money, travelling to Milano for the I.C.21.
I still wish you all the best with this tournament though, but that's all I can give you at this moment.

Ah, nice to see Greek tournament results posted here. Would have been better to be in them, but it was a bad day for me.
What are "resluts" Jorn? Some hidden path to slipping back to debauchery? Should we ask Pedro?
I hope memorabilia worthy of the Great Day were given to competitors!

I did not realize how much I'd missed a Kick Off 2 tournament until yesterday. This was our first gathering of the Covid era, and it's not like we were very active before the beginning of the pandemic, either. It's too bad only five people came, Vasilis and Spyros had to drop out on the day, but it's understandable especially considering it was a weekday.
I followed the current conference protocols that are in place in Greece, enforcing vaccination certificates as well as face masks. Knowing the KOAers' promiscuous lives, I didn't want to take any chances.
Many of the games had low scores, and therefore were quite close. In my first match against Nikos, he was always on the lead, 2-0 and 4-2. I scored a third one about thirty seconds to the end, and the equalizer with a header on injury time... almost. It was a case of "whistle blew a fraction of a second before the ball crossed the line", followed by a pandemonium from the crowd (Panayotis). A fantastic way of us returning to action, you've got to love these games even when you get the short end of the stick! Next was George, against whom I managed a very close and nervous win. Then was Kostas, who was playing with one of my spare joysticks. Against Ektoras, it was one of those games that whatever shot you take goes in. Panayotis, I beat with my absolutely favorite way of beating someone: a lob on injury time! The second round began with another "all shots go in" against Nikos, and I kind of shaped up and played better till the end. Before the last match, Panayotis knew* that I'd lose the tournament if he beat me so he tried his best and it was 4-4 two minutes to the end, but then I managed to score two unanswered goals to win it.
Nikos played great and only really had one bad match. He could have won this.
Ektoras somehow arrived without a joystick and he couldn't play his best with a Tomahawk.
George was on the receiving end of many of my daughter's questions about his controller!
Panayotis hadn't played in 8 years, and yet his results were not as bad as his final points indicate: He lost four games by a single goal.
Kostas was outclassed in this tournament but still seemed to enjoy it.
I should point out that I had the Dartford World Cup video playing on TV on loop throughout the tournament!
Thank you all for coming to my anniversary, you're so lucky to have me. See you in 10 years!
*he didn't know shit, I had to tell him to make it interesting as he wasn't paying attention

Congratulations to Alkis for the victory! It sure must have felt great being surounded by KO2 atmosphere again.
Well done everyone for taking part in the event. It is really nice to see that the KO2 scene is little by little coming back to life. It is marvellous to think that we will all be there soon again!

Ah, loved that. Meeting again after such a long time. A little bit more grey hair, a bit less hair, glasses, but everything else was there including the fun. Wish to have more meetings in the near future including the World Cup. Unfortunately, this virus changed a lot of things but it will never change our soul and the love for this game.
PS. I did well except that match with Alkis. But it is one of those matches that if everything works for your opponent, nothing works for you. But this is Kick Off I suppose .
