How to post your tournament results

Postby alkis21 » Sun Feb 16, 2020 11:14 pm

Here's a quick reminder on the optimal way to handle the results of your tournament, during and after the event:

1. (preferably) Before the event, start a topic where you clearly state the city and date.

2. Download the Fixtures Manager. You only need to do this once.

3. Download the latest Rankings.dat file, found in the KOATD archive and place it in the same folder as the Fixtures Manager.

4. Run FixturesV1_1.exe and click on Setup new league to set up your tournament. Start by selecting Rankings.dat, then enter its title and choose the number of legs and whether you wish to sort the league by goal difference or player results.

5. Select all the players of your league using the drop down list. If you have newcomers, enter their names manually in correct KOA format. Make sure that the name is not taken. If the new guy's name is Mark Bentley, he should be entered as Mark Be as there is already a Mark B.

6. Start your league, press F5 to enter results, play, enjoy. Notice that the Ranking points everyone gets are automatically calculated.

7. When you are ready to post the results on the forum, select File>Save league Bmp and File>Save results only for the results. Prefer the Compact View when saving, as the full one does not fit in a forum post. Post them both, as such:

        Spyros P  3 - 2  Nikos A
       Ektoras K  3 - 1  George Ka
       Ektoras K  2 - 7  Alkis P
       George Ka  4 - 4  Nikos A
       George Ka  3 - 8  Spyros P
         Nikos A  2 - 6  Alkis P
         Nikos A  4 - 5  Ektoras K
         Alkis P  7 - 0  Spyros P
         Alkis P  6 - 1  George Ka
        Spyros P  6 - 5  Ektoras K
         Nikos A  3 - 4  Spyros P
       George Ka  2 - 3  Ektoras K
         Alkis P  7 - 3  Ektoras K
         Nikos A  4 - 1  George Ka
        Spyros P  5 - 2  George Ka
         Alkis P  6 - 1  Nikos A
       Ektoras K  9 - 5  Nikos A
        Spyros P  0 - 9  Alkis P
       George Ka  2 - 8  Alkis P
       Ektoras K  5 - 6  Spyros P

8. Remember to point out if there are any newcomers, and their nationality. The tournament may be in England, but if the player is Welsh we need to know.

9. If your tournament's topic has several pages, edit the title of the first post to indicate the page that includes the results, as such:
Athens LXXXIII: September 23 | Results: Page 5
Remember, remember, the 4th and the 3rd of November
