Film: Hugo
Format: Sky Movies
Score: 9/10

This was the last movie I watched before the film channels ended and what a delight it was. More a love letter to the art of movie making than anything. Scorsese using 3D (even though I watched it in 2D) to tell a story about technical boundaries being broken but no matter the advanced age we live in, the simple emotion of 'love' will always be the prevailing factor. Whether it s a love for a father, love for a partner or a love for the moving image. Characters and story are the real groundbreaking elements which we will never tire of.

Film: Django Unchained
Format: Cinema
Score: 9/10

Review: Yet another great movie by Quentin Tarantino. He doesn't need 3D or excessive CGI (in fact, he hates both), seemingly without effort he creates extremely compelling films. Django, somewhat surprisingly considering the slavery setting, is Tarantino's funniest work yet, you'll be loughing out loud far more than in any "real comedy" (starring Ben Stiller or Adam Sandler). Of course, it's mostly due to Christoph Waltz, who delivers another amazing performance. Oh, and there is plenty of blood and gore, too, totally over the top. Maybe just a tad too long, a few scenes too drawn out. But certainly my favorite movie in a long while - maybe since Inglorious Basterds.

Watched this today.. Brilliant movie..
Great idea, brilliantly executed as well..
It's essentially a time travel movie but you don't get caught up in the whole mechanics of time travel itself.
Tag line was : this decades Matrix!!!!

Yes

I enjoyed this but something wasn't quite right...didn't like the whole Bruce Willis character, didn't seem to fit in.

the whole movie and the premise was good tho so I would give it an 8/10

Format : Misc hahahah :)

Film: Gravity
Format: Cinema (3D)
Score: 7/10

Review: The trailer was damn impressive and I thought it'd be worth watching this on the big screen. Though while watching I felt the screen (which was a decent size) still wasn't large enough, I'd probably want an Imax-Dome (we used to have one in Berlin but it went bankrupt) to really feel like I'm in space. As always, I didn't care too much for 3D. Oh, the movie, right. Well, it's only 90 minutes long, which I thought was perfect, it's pretty exciting and high-tech. I saw an interview with Sandra Bullock and when she signed up for the film she was told she'd have to get on a plane and they'd film her in actual zero gravity, only a week before filming began the director told her it won't be necessary, they came up with some nifty new technology. I have one major quibble but since I keep my reviews spoiler-free I won't get into it. Definitely worth watching!
