Guys, let me introduce you Pantazis (aka Peter). He's a unique case as he's our first member from Australia! (although originally Greek). He's the one who, 12 years ago, won the Pixel magazine competition (best goal replays) and quite a few tournaments at the time. We welcome him on board and hope that he will come back to Greece some day for a few matches!

Wow! The winner of the Pixel contest back then went to Australia! Amazing! So, Pantazis, are you visiting Greece anytime soon? We need more award winners here.

Hello Spyro!
Unfortunately I can't go back to Greece soon, as I have too many commitments... :(

But yes, I plan to get back to Greece (especially Kastellorizo!)

But I am glad there is a big group of Kick Off enthusiasts bringing the
game to a new level.

Keep it up guys!!!

Ok guys... sorry for linking to this (almost ten year old!) post,
but it seems I will be returning to Greece from Australia around March.
(I will be going to Kastellorizo and Hiliomodi).

For those who still have the impression I was in those videos
(back on the early 90s) where the players didn't know how to play,
I may have an interesting surprise for them, especially as I still
have my Amiga joystick in perfect condition. In fact, it was easy
sending billions of high quality goals to the PIXEL magazine
like an avalanche, confusing them so much that they didn't know
which one to pick. Hence, I won the competition, despite residing
in the remote Dodecanese area.

It was a pleasure to see an excellent organised KO2 tournament in
Milan, and hopefully I could be part of it in the near future.
One thing I don't know is whether changing the positions of players
is allowed (we did not allow this in our tournaments back then).

Anyway... will keep in touch! ;-)

We knew we could tempt you back eventually :)
I hope the relocation goes well and you become a tournament regular!

Usually it's the other way around these days - Greeks in Greece plan to go abroad!

Pantazis, we use the default team settings to speed up games in tournaments, but, as far as I remember, tournament rules dictate that lineups can be changed if both players agree.

Of course we don't know how good you are, but I do know that back in the 90s many of us thought we were the best. Globalisation and the KOA made a lot of us change our minds :)

Steve, Pantazis doesn't live in Athens, but Hiliomodi is not that far; we may hopefully get the chance to meet him in person.

Thanks for the kind words Steve and Abyss. I am actually going to be part of a nice educational effort
in South East Asia (for those who don't know I have invented many puzzles, some have been mass-produced).
We agreed that we could use Greece as a base to make my prototypes, because I personally know some excellent
people, while I want to return and help the situation by affecting positively the economy, and most importantly,
pride (which was trashed by our own politician-traitors).

Anyway, I do not want to go too political and sound mean. I am returning because I never adjusted to the Australian
way of life the way locals do. I was a professor at the University of Western Australia, but maths I like, puzzles I love.

It will be absolutely great to meet up with all of you, and share more interesting news. Also, I realised that I accidentally
made two profiles ("kastellorizo" and "Pantazis"). Is it possible to somehow merge them? (I want to keep the first one,
i.e. the one I am using now).

I predict I should be there around March. For business reasons I may be in Hiliomodi, but most of the time I will be staying
in the house I am building in Kastellorizo island. As for Asia, I will be spending a huge amount of time between Thailand
and Singapore promoting puzzles to education.

Anyway, I really need to take the dust off my joystick. And I certainly understand what it means that KO2 has become
global and what it takes to be the world's Nr 1. Because some of you may remember the arcade game Tehkan World Cup,
for which I still hold the MARP world record since... 2001! Link here:
http://replay.marpirc.net/r/%28tehkanwc ... hkanwcc%29

Of course, KO2 as a game is much more advanced (aftertouch, etc), but I guess I should be "competitive enough",
(if you know what I mean), especially as I managed to get some national prize in KO2 too almost 22 years ago. ;-)
I will also bring some of my puzzles to literally destroy your concentration, just in case you are all too good for me! LOL

See you all!

So, it's www.mindstratpuzzles.com?

Man, it took me five years back in the day to solve the Rubik Cube, do I qualify for any speedsolving competitions? :)
