Amiga VS Atari VS PC
I once held a tournament with 5 players. We had 1 Amiga and 1 ST. We played each other twice, once on each machine. I am good on either, but two guys had never played ST and struggled. Thus I won the tournament. According to these guys, there are very subtle differences in timing between the two, and constantly switching between the machines disrupted their game. At least that was their excuse for losing. As for PC, I understand that this is how the game lives on for some, but other have never played PC at all. At least we all started on the ST/Amiga.
My suggestion is we agree the tournament is solely on the Amiga. I can bring an A1200, and if my mate James Lockerbie will just get on with joining this site, he can also bring an A600. There is nothing to stop people turning up early and having a few 'warm up' games just to get into the Amiga rhythm.
I suggest we start a new discussion thread entitled "I'll bring an Amiga to the tournament." This will enable us to know how many we have available. Methinks we will need a lot of tables, chairs, 4-way adapters and portable TV's. Plus the BIG SCREEN idea is a winner.;

As i've said before, ideally i would like to get 6 amigas at the tournament, 4 for group games and 2 for friendlies. If anyone has any ideas of exactly how we could sort out this big screen projector then that would be a big help. I'd like to see everyone in football shirts too <IMG SRC="/koboard/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif"> that would be cool.
Tables and chairs and bar plugs etc are not a problem.;

I think we have to set standards, I always used an ST but will be more than happy competing on an Amiga.
Therefore all games should be on the Amiga, it just makes it easier and more standard.
As for the teams, I think before each game each player picks a team out of a hat and plays the game with that team (or alternatively before the tourney, as there are 8 players in each group, we could pick a team out to keep for the duration of the group matches!)
As for the other options, pretty standard.
Random Ref, Normal Pitch (even though I loved the wet pitch!), aftertouch on, 100% speed (this is Kickoff not sensi!).
Can't wait.
And like the idea of havingan amiga spare or two as at least I will have something to do after getting knocked out on day1.

Yep, i would stronly agree that we all have the same team ( single player game - international teams ) that way there will be no excuses when loosing.
I like the idea of random pitch, random referee as that is part of the KO2 settings.
Are we having home and away games as if so you could allow the home team to specify pitch type and referee to give them an edge
