Hi! I'm here to inform you that the 15th Italian Kick Off Championship will be held in Milan on Sunday 11th June 2017! The tournament will be hosted in the usual venue we used for the last few years, in which we are proud to show the famous [IQSSF] certificate for our amiga stations !

The tournament is open to foreigners and of course they are welcome to the gathering!

Cappuccino and Brioches @ Torrefazione is now a tradition: the competition will start in the morning just after a good cappuccino and brioches.
We will make a one hour break for pizza-time and the tournament is planned to end in mid/late afternoon allowing people to get back home. so it will be a one-day-tournament.
Venue is already confirmed and the cost will not depend on attendance: the fee is 10€ each player.

Official KOA Hotel is: the usual http://www.hotel22marzo.com/
I know you liked it, it isn't the best one you have ever seen but It is cheap, quiet, clear, 30 seconds walk to venue, 3 minutes walk to Kick Off House.
If you need it, please, ask me and I can reserve a room for you! 50€ for single room and 70€ for double/twin room.
The plan is to start the tournament at 11.00
If you need any info about hotel, travel, etc. please ask me!

Confirmed Player:

1 Lorenzo C
2 Lorenzo L
3 Sandro T
4 Gianni T
5 Fabio F
6 Alessandro V
7 Flavio Z
8 Paolo S

Hi there! sorry for the delay but you know, there is a big lack of spare time lately!
We were very few this year just only six players but we had good fun.
So I'm Italian Champion for the 14th time straight.
We played 15 matches each one (we played 3x each other) for a total of 45 matches.
For the first time ever the tournament as been entirely played on emulated amigas.
At the VGP (the Video Games Party, a very nice place for multiplayer gaming) they have a set of 30 ROG PC game station for hardcore players with top hardware and of course top monitors (144Hz 1ms gtg) which guarantee a amiga responsive timing. of course also the USB adaptors were the best on the market (we brought them of course) so we had 3 perfect amiga working full steam without the problems of the real amiga we all know now days (do you remember Milan 2016 with 18 perfectly tested before the world cup and just 11 working in the process and even less used because " I don't like the screen" " I don't like the sound" "the green is too green", "the yellow is too yellow"). well, after very little time we were calling the pc stations as "Amiga".
Some of us already knew that with such hardware it was possible to have a 1:1 amiga feeling but there was still some scepticism. Well, after 45 marches the scepticism was evaporated. Amiga perfect timing was true. we never had to reboot a single machine, we played indifferently on all the machines and all the machines played the same number of games. You know how much this factor is important, specially in a world cup scale.
A special mention goes to Sir Camber, the KO2CV last addition to record the last scores on the title screen is very good when the players have got some hole in theirs faulty memory, it is possible to come back to the monitor and check the score again. well done!
About the tournament, what can I say... well I can report what did they say... "he is unplayable". and I must admit somehow it was so. I even slammed the doors in face to Fabio with a rounding 7-0, a score who will not forget easily.
Fabio, silver medal played hard but Alessandro (bronze medal) caught him once with a 7-7 draw.
Entertaining matches between Sandro and Alessandro, the latter prevailed for inches. also good entertaining between Paolo and Flavio. It was fun and a good practice also for the world cup as basically all the six players will join the upcoming world cup.
I was almost sure that Flavio wouldn't join the world cup this year, instead with the new job, things are turning better so most luckily he will be one of us in Sweden. Paolo, Fabio, Alessandro and I got the tickets already, just Sandro needs some more motivations. do you know if there is any chick in Sweden? :)

here you are some pictures of the tournament:

and here all the results in order they have been played. enjoy!

Thanks to everyone who attended the tournament, specially Flavio who made a long trip to join us!
a special thanks to the VGP, they hosted us in a very professional way, they are hardware specialist they gave us full support for everything we needed, air conditioning included. cheap snacks and coke. a place that I will track for future events. the test was fully passed.

If that it's what's needed, I think I can answer like this:

Sandro won't have to get av return ticket. He will be staying in Sweden. ;)

Great write-up my friend. I would've loved to be there. This pc-gaming sounds interesting. Maybe this needs to be considered for world cups.

Impressive performance, well done Gianni. And indeed very interesting to hear about this perfect emulation. Also, cool and geeky venue!

Congratulations to Gianni, enorme campione!

It also looks that this was a positive test of the technology that will allow us to keep on playing for many more years. In spite of the low attendance, this was a milestone in kick off history.

Very nice reading Gianni, and thanks a lot for the organization!!!
I really enjoyed the venue, the pizza, the friendly company (and i can confirm that the emulation was just perfect...)

Personally I am quite happy about my performance, not many players there...but the quality was just "monumental" ;-)..i couldn't really do much better than that.

I double-checked my results against the last italian cup and saw a good improvement in the number of goals scored (even if i played two matches less, against some monsters), with still a lot of improvement in the defensive department.

I also touched my best moment as a kick-off player when using an ipad as a support my joystick, the apple branded extremely expensive glass was a perfect match for the Cruiser.

See you all in the world cup!!

I tripled-checked and that's not true at all, besides the part on the defense to improve!
