The 2017 World Cup - October 28/29th - Landskrona, Sweden

In short; we're willing to host the next World Cup in Landskrona (We: Torgny, Jacob, Dennis and me).

50 minutes by train från Copenhagen airport.

Torgny's involved in the local club there (doing their podcast etc). We could most likely use their premises with view over Landskrona IP (the arena - google it!). We could probably use it (almost) for free. There are abso good plastic grass-fields if we want to play Real Football (tm).

Landskrona is a small town, meaning it's cheaper than Copenhagen.

Only downside is that it's in Sweden, meaning beer is hard to get. Only light in regular shops. That can easily be bypassed though, by some of us driving in lots from Denmark or Germany.

Dates are 28/29th Rocktober.

I will most likely attend and I would definitely vote for Landskrona!
Travelling by car is possible and that means we are more flexible to stay until the final finale.

I try to convince Peter and Wolf. Should be no prob that Thomas will also join the ride.

So don´t think you run out of beer. A lot of cans will travel with us, that´s for sure.

I see nothing but advantages. I love world cups in small towns (Groningen, Voitsberg), Jorn and Jacob have already proved their ability to host a killer tournament. The distance from the airport is somewhat long, but I'm sure some of us can arrange to rent a car as per tradition.

Can the pub be converted to a proper tournament room?

Both Cph and Malmö supports Ryanair and other low-cost airlines.

Landskrona is a small town indeed, so I reckon that should make it a bit easier to secure a Karaoke Event

What pub? We'll most likely use Landskrona IdrottsPlats (Landskrona Stadium); where we hope to be able to use the facilities overlooking the football field.

This is great news by the way. I haven't been to that part of the world since I visited Jacob in Lund. After missing the Copenhagen world cup this will more than make up for it. And this would be the first world cup IN SWEDEN!

There is just one thing that concerns me. According to the television there seem to be a lot of murders in this area. Please confirm it's safe?

Landskrona is very safe. Personally I'd stay away from parts of Malmö, much as I stay away from areas of downtown Copenhagen and the greater Copenhagen area. But Landskrona is very nice, and as you can see, a 1 hour trainride from Malmö, where most of this kind of gang-action is taking place.

Also, Norwegians have a tradition of winning World Championships in Sweden.
