Yeah, I think I've seen this goal scored a couple of times

BTW, us non-PBD filth purists don't have such issues- the ball always rolls ahead!

However, I was just wondering if it was just a logical check that's missing (IF <ball is expected in the field> THEN <go to grab it>) or if it was some kind of freaky 68000 code bug.

Yes that's exactly it, the keeper is blindly running towards the interception point with no checking for that's position's on/off pitch status. Just a logic omission in the original programming.

Yes. This will be for those post-hits, when the ball bounces back out, but the goal is awarded...
