Let's see how we did. Below is a list of the players -excluding newbies, who were basically unseeded-, in seeding order. Next to each player is the position they actually got in the World Cup. I used green for the ones who finished in the same group as the one they were seeded, blue if they were one group away and red if they were two groups away.

1. Gianni T 2
2. Dagh N 3
3. Alkis P 10
4. Andy G 8

5. Fabio F 7
6. Spyros P 6
7. Christopher D 13
8. Oliver St 4

9. Thor S 1
10. Mario F 5
11. Sandro T 16
12. Lorenzo C 9

13. Ektoras K 11
14. Alessandro V 14
15. Jacob K 15
16. Steve C 12

17. Mark W 22
18. Frank F 18
19. Robert S 19
20. Lorenzo L 20

21. Rodolfo M 21
22. Jorn F 24
23. Vassilis K 17
24. Lee W 26

25. Cornelius H 25
26. Flavio Z 28
27. Paolo S 29
28. Peter S 34

29. Peter K 35
30. Michele L 27
31. Jaume P 36
32. Michael G 23

Considering we cannot tell the future, I only consider the red marks as completely failed predictions. But even that is debatable; if we had seeded Chris in the fourth group and Alkis in the third one, people would think we were drunk. Should we do it in the next world cup? Chris is good enough to win the competition and make a fool out of the seedings again. You just can't predict someone's form on the day. It should also be noted that Michael had a great Sunday and made it to the 23rd place, but he was normally supposed to play in the Bronze Cup and was only promoted because Leonardo left.

Overall, I think we did well. All the top 16 seeded players made it to the Top 16, I think that's a first! It's also funny that we did much better in the theoretically more unpredictable Silver Cup than in the World Cup round.

I really believe the seedings are consistenly very accurate. I'm very impressed with how spot-on they are, year after year. And the occasional hick-up just helps giving the palette a bit more colour.

I agree. The seedings are consistently accurate, and this year was particularly hard as you would be splitting hairs among the top players. I know you invest a lot of time in this, and it is very much appreciated!

Thanks!
I do think that more than to compile a standing, a good seeding means to have very balanced groups. so no matter how you are drawn, you end up in a a group that is not easier or harder than other groups. this is the very great success of a good seeding. A=B= C=D. more or less, obviously! I think we did a very good job.

I am satisfied to finish 19th as the seedings requested.
