Amsterdam KO2 Tournament, April 2nd, 2016.
Hello one and all,
as some of you may know, I made inquiries as to the possibility of submitting a bid for WC2016 in Amsterdam (my adopted home-town). But, after some consideration, I figured it would be better to do a smaller, local tournament first, to gain experience and to show you KO2 guys that I can pull it off (hopefully with some aplomb).
To this end, I would like to announce a KO2 tournament in Amsterdam this coming April 2nd, 2016. It's in the early stages of organization, so we don't have an exact venue yet, or a web-site, but we're working on all of that good stuff behind the scenes and will have it up and running soon.
This post is just to let people know the dates well in advance so they can earmark time in their calendars and wallets =)
I would like to have it as a ranking tournament and bill it as "The Netherlands KO2 Championship", but please let me know if I have to do certain things to be permitted to market it as such.
We are aiming for a one-day tournament on the Saturday, approx 20-25 competitors. Approx 25 euro entrance fee. For people who are interested, we will of course schedule some other activities on Friday and Sunday (including, but not limited to, some KO2 at my apartment).
Dino Dini has already provisionally confirmed attendance (seeing as he lives not too far away, in Breda) and we are hoping that reigning world champ Andy G wil be able to come too, so that we can all have a crack at pulling him down a peg or two! =)
We will also be looking to get back in contact with all the former Dutch KO2 folk to "bring them back into the fold" and re-invigorate the Dutch KO2 scene.
For those of you on Facebook, we have a group "Kick Off 2 Tournament Amsterdam 2016" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1530415183942755/), although there's nothing to see there, as yet, but might be worth joining if you want to stay in the loop.

Looks like this is potentially a very nice tournament. Not all tournaments have such a nice homepage!
I'd love to go to Amsterdam I can't go though due to other obligations. I wish Alan the best with hosting this and I hope that you who will attend this tournament behave properly so we all can look forward to a future World Cup there.

There are only three simple conditions for a tournament to be ranked:
1) It must feature at least four players
2) All matches must be 2x5 minutes long
3) The full results must be posted in the KOA forum.
