16th KO2 World Cup - Copenhagen World Cup Bid

Postby Freshmaker » Sat Dec 12, 2015 3:11 am

Yup. You know it.
I love you guys.
I offered to host a gazillion times in Tromsø, so why not keep it up here.
What can I offer of delights? Not much. Probably a smoother organization than last year. Cheaper t-shirts. Same game-room, probably same hotel. Mexican Friday. You know the drill; The infamous Dinner & Draw!
I might manage to fix a place we could finish the weekend on Sunday, just for us to party it out, celebrate the new World Champ, the Silver Champ, everyone. No promise but by god I'm gonna try.

As for rules, I'd like to stick with settings providing you to be able to prepare for the world cup using your original ko2-disc. However, any changes to the rules will be agreed on through a voting-process.

The same settings used the last 4 world cups. Autofix on, Trapfix Off.

Sorry mate, I don't understand. You want the game 'out of the box' but you don't want Auto Slides?

100% behind this and any bid for the world
Cup but especially CPH.

As you all know I loved Athens, and Milan, and Birmingham, and Voitsberg...oh and Groningen... oh and Cologne with Mel....But my favourite ever was Copenhagen even tho my half of the hotel was in Sweden! I loved something I cannot put my finger on about CPH but I loved it!!!

i thought this was actually an old thread been revisited... oh, denmark... means flying... but hey ho, means the mrs would be happy at least and maybe could even drag my danish friend there too!

I'd be happy to go to dk or brum... dunno if that's any help to a particular bid, but fk it :D

Sorry mate, I don't understand. You want the game 'out of the box' but you don't want Auto Slides?

1 Autofix has been voted in time after time.
2 Autofix doesn't interfere with gameplay in the same way Trapfix does. I would gladly go for a vote on the Autofix though. It's no prestige in it for me.
3 I think A=B, PBDMIX, Removal of bugs not directly connected to gameplay (corner kick from wrong corner, "stealing" of subs, red-carded player returning for 2.half etc) is a very good compromise between "Out of the box" and our wish to play as many people as possible during the wc-weekend, on level terms.

Would I be opposed to light wind, random pitch etc? No. We could vote on that as well.

You see, apart from what's mentioned under #3, these "refinements" will all be within the boundaries of "out of the box".

As I wrote in an earlier post, the Kick Off 2 World Cup is both a gathering of friends and a preservation of history. Imho the Kick Off 2 World Cup should be about Kick Off 2. Not Kick Off Evolution. Not that I'm against evolution, but you'd need to invite to the Kick Off Evo World Cup with other changes.

So it's a preservation of history but you're banning Auto Slides?
You want it playable 'out of the box' aka 1990 but you don't want Auto Slides. When a newbie players against a top player, having Auto Slides in could be a leveller.

...and then saying the KOBRA bid is a Kick Off Evo World Cup?

Doing it your way would mean it has more Competition Version changes in than ours. Sorry mate, i'm really baffled by this I must admit.
You're forcing players to play without Auto Slides - whcih wasn't even introduced till 2008 or so.
But then it's convienantly okay to play it like this because that's how the previous world cups have been. I need Doc Brown to sort out this paradox!
So you want it playable out of the box...but if people have been okay with changes previously then that's okay as well.

In that case we might as well state Birmingham 2016 has the APT menu...after all, it was voted in during 2011 and in Alkis's words who I carry with great weight, was one of the best world cups ever.

So in some ways it's okay to mess about with changes - i.e. the ones you agree with but in other areas it isnt? Very, very strange this is. hmmmm, need to clear my mind of questions.

I welcome the Copenhagen bid as I have welcomed the BHam bid.

I personally don't take the rules into consideration when voting. For me it's about the venue and the hosts ability and dedication.
I just want to play Kick Off (and hang out with the Germans who always have a bottle of Rum at the table! :) ).
