For every three frames it chooses the brightest one and ignores the other two. So we end up with a 10fps video instead of a 30fps video, but with no headaches.

Didn't work so this morning I tried on a Windows laptop and the drivers are installed so this is significant progress.

Here's a sample of brightness levels for two seconds of footage.

We just want the frames showing the constant high level of brightness, not the darker ones.

The other semi final is currently processing and will hopefully be ready today.
