15th KO2 WORLD CUP: The Seeding Groups
39 confirmed players so far.
As always, principles used are:
-Ranking points
-Performance in previous World Cups
-Performance in other tournaments
-Recent form and practice level
-Where two players must be separated, head-to-head record
-Personal opinions / quality assessment.
There will be 4 groups on Day One , we will draw from 10 groups of 4 people each. If there will be drops out/new registrations for the world cup, players will be arranged following the rules above.
The aim of this process is not to favour or punish any individual, but just to come up with four balanced groups .

Group 2
John H, Oliver St, Jacob K, Thor S
Group 3

Lee. You know how you count up for a rock-tune?
A 1, a 2, a 1, 2, 3, 4...
you didn't make the cut

Re: 15th KO2 WORLD CUP: The Seeding Groups
To those of you organizing and planning the WC: Thank you – what an outstanding job so far! I have been looking forward to this for a long time, and now it is almost here!
Any consideration to having 3 first round groups? I discussed this privately with Gianni and he explained the rationale for 4 groups which I understand and respect, but just thought I’d throw the question out there to everyone.
3 groups would mean 2-4 more round 1 games for everyone. I understand that there is a need to get some of the second round played on Saturday to prevent playing late on Sunday, but with 11 stations, and assuming 3 games/hour per station, it would take about 7 hours to complete 3 groups, leaving time to get the second round started? We’d play about 1.7 games/hour, leaving plenty of time for socializing and resting.
We have more stations (11) than in Copenhagen (8 or 9) and last year we didn’t start playing until close to noon, if I recall correctly?
Perhaps my math is flawed, or I am overly excited to play against humans after largely only having the Amiga to play against .
More kick off with more people = more fun!

First of all, respect to the organizers! Doing a very imoressive job.
If there are 4 groups, does that mean 8 matches? Just sounds a bit low to me. If i am able to play, i would like to play as much as possible:) because its fun!

Keep calm and prepare your luggage for Dublin!
The plan is to play at least 12-13 matches on day one. most luckily we will anticipate some games of the second round on day one. this is to avoid to finish (again) the show at 22.00 of Sunday night.
As soon as registrations will be closed, we will post the world cup format too.

Re: 15th KO2 WORLD CUP: The Seeding Groups
Since I'm at the same group as Jaume, I guess we're avoiding the big Iberian battle! At least on day #1
In the previous Iberian battle, Rodolfo beat me 9-1 or something

Good work Gianni. This year I will work hard to prove you are right!
If you look at my own seedings in the predictions thread you will see small differences.

Re: 15th KO2 WORLD CUP: The Seeding Groups
thanks everybody! thanks to everyone was involved in to do this dirty job too.
Interesting: often players look at who is above and who is below. I more would look at who is in my seed, which is like to say:" Which players are considered to be at my same level?
In fact, if you look at this in that way, you would understand that if I would put the seed 1 in the last raw, it would have no difference in to balance the groups, as the would be balanced though.
The main aim of the seeding in fact is to group players of the same level to balance as most as possible the round one groups.
