Congratulations to the king! There can be only one :D !

Well played everybody and nice to see Andys motivation to travel abroad for KO2 action. Impressive performance by both Lorenzos.

One of the funniest and best KO2 events I have had so far!

KO2 with friends + Italian food and drink is as good as it gets!

Congratulations to the Champ! We tried to beat him but he is just too good, a flawless performance by a true champion.

Thank you so much Gianni, for making me feel so welcome and for your effort, kindness and generosity in making the weekend so special for us all! Please say hi to your cousin and the other Italians, spending time and getting to know you all was so much fun!

Thank you very much dudes!

Yes, it was a fun week end! thank you very much to join it!
Although the favourite won the tournament, it wasn't easy at all, this time in particular with opponents in a very good form!

We had a completely free random draw and destiny said that the very first big match Fabio Vs Andy was at the 1 round. an entertaining 5-5 that made me happy because the draw took 2 points to both the players
At the second round another big match between Fabio and I. In this 2015 Fabio and I are playing much together, many and many friendlies like we never did before and lately he is winning many games, he gave me also his first double digit so he was confident to have his chance to beat me this time.
But I saved my special magic for official tournaments and I won 6-4 in a very tough fight.
I had a very tense match with Lorenzo C (LoRambo) too. He was the only one to take me points in this tournament. He deserved it as he concretised very well the chances he had to score while I made many mistakes in front of the goal, although his defence was very good. BTW Tommaso had the best defence of the tournament and I really believe he is one of the best 5 defenders in the world.
One of most tense and entertaining matches so far was the game with Andy:
Andy Stoke first then I scored 5 goals straight but the fight was just started: he was able to make an amazing come back and he overcame me 6-5 with a series of surgical moves and shots. In the moment the old lion seemed done, I hit him with a sudden reversal, turning the score to 6-7 for me. At that point Andy performed a fast counter attack and he kicked a diagonal shot with Fisher completely done. The ball was crossing the line when Cox jumped out from a trap door and with an desperate header he cleared the goal. A key moment of the game and my roar resounded in the whole Retroacademy stand. In the end I won 8-6. What a match!
Few words about the attenders:
Fabio confirms he is my vice again, top skills in attack and defence, he will win for sure one day. when in a tournament I will do just data entry at the desk fixture software... :)
LoRambo: his defence is very effective against every players today, big screen skills. his attack is enough to have a good goal difference and get the bronze medal, but not enough to get the silver one.
Andy and Chris, two amazing players. Like the standing says, Andy is slightly ahead in attack and defence although they have similar ways to approach the box and defend the hot zone. Andy in these years has built solid routines, Christopher lacks a bit on this side and this exposes his defence to fast counter attack. A tremendous player though.
Lorenzo L played a good tournament sometimes playing over par, sometimes playing below par. it gave a even goal difference (+50 -50) and a very good 8W 5L
Alessandro, although the goal difference is positive, he surely played over par (Bogey) but he played the first half of the tournament barely drunk! it is dangerous to start a tournament after an Italian lunch! :D
Michael Ma, another great international level player. He won where he had to win. Players suffer his game style. a tough player.
For Michelone this is his best performance ever. after a bad world cup it is a good step ahead.
Flavio had more downs than ups, but he beat Lorenzo L! a pity he doesn't practice otherwise he cold reach surprising positions in a world cup!
Marco B, he's back after the 2012 world cup, hope we will see him more often together with Michele, who is now a true KOA road tripper!
Alex Br. first "at bat" in a official KOA tournament. in my opinion he is a new Troglos. I mean: he is a warrior, he is really talented, he has moves and skills that remind me the 2005's Marco. after an year of hard practice, you remember Marco reached the big screen in 2006.
I sense the force is strong in this one.
Koney K has a very good moves but he needs some training to crack Fisher. Surely to score more goals would help also in defence. He won at least a game though.
Denny M had a better attack and defence average but he lost the game with Koney so he got the last place. anyway I really like his spirit. he will show his best in the future.

Thanks every one who joined this tournament and everyone who was involved in to organize it, it was a pleasure to stay with you!
A special thanks to our international friends and a warm "best wishes" to Michael F.
See you in Dublin!

Just to give some more stats:

14 players and 7 amigas: we played all the rounds at once with no players waiting for their turn.
7 amiga stations: 5 Amiga 500 and 2 Amiga 1200 connected to 5 commodore monitors and 2 CRT 14" TV. probably the tournament with the highest average of amiga monitor per amiga station.
Games played: 91
Duration: 4h 5' (3,25 games per hour on every amiga)
Goal scored: 785 (8,63 per game)

Although we had a big numbers of amiga stations comparing to the players (1 every two players) we had a low average of matches, a bit more than 3 per hour on every amiga. The point was that at the RetroAcademy there where many elements of distractions :D

Hi all!

Thanks for a great day Saturday last weekend! I enjoyed very much.

The Italians were great hosts, and the KO2 event was flawless. Great hardware and setup. Congratulations to Gianni, a true champion! He made us feel welcome and it was great to get to talk about KO2 and to get to know eachother on the road trip. Thanks also to Allessandro who drove us all day, and was one of our translators. A very nice guy indeed! Nice to get to know the other Italians too. And great to see Michael make the trip from Austria.

The italian Championship is a great challenge because of the high standard of the players. They are vey skillfull and hard to beat. So i am looking forward to next year, as me and Andy are looking to make this an annual trip. I`ll try to be better prepared next time around :D

Retrospectively a very nice tournament, I'm really glad I was part of it. Gaming wise I was hoping I could do a little better - bet the players I was quite sure I could but clearly lost to anyone else. Including those I thought I could annoy a little ;-) My best moment was a 'save on line' followed by a nice and controlled passing through attack against Chris bringing me the 3-2 lead, right before falling apart in the last minute... Worst probably my red card / penalty / loosing Cox against Alessandro - thanks Mr. Zappa! Made me realise that I'm absolute crap when using 'lockout'.

Drinking wise I felt a little alone, had to finish the beer I brought almost by myself - thankfully Andy and Christopher did their best to support me in the evening - thanks Gianni for driving me to the B&B, would have had to take a Taxi elsewise  Very nice owners by the way, had some funny moments trying to communicate using a mixture of low level Spanish, hand and feet.
So thanks everyone for organizing and attending, apart from some navigational problems (my Navi is even older than my car), I did have a great time. See you next time, keep playing!!
