The 2015 World Cup - Suggestions

Postby Freshmaker » Mon Jan 19, 2015 9:25 pm

Hi guys.

So far, we've got 2 places interested in hosting the next world cup.

1 - Landskrona, Sweden. Located just a bit north of Malmö (again, close to Copenhagen), offering what seems to be quality game-room and Real Football (tm) guaranteed.

2 - Cork, Ireland. Info needed.

My suggestion would be that the intended organizers give us some info, then we vote.

Organizer for option 1 is Torgny (and Jacob). Organizer for option 2 is Danny.

Please guys, give is something to choose between, then I'll set up the vote.

To clarify my offer is for Dublin the capital and not Cork.

Dublin Ireland.
My offering is Ireland, home of Guinness and Shamrocks. Never before has a world cup been held on the emerald isle and hopefully that's about to change.

Dublin airport has direct flights and this means ONE direct flight to the World Cup for all international guests.

Bring your partners, they can riverDance the nights away!

Should this bid be accepted I have an intensive marketing campaign planned which will start straight away. This plan involves getting sponsorship so that all expenses are covered. The second part of the plan is to activate dormant Irish kickoff 2 players and also attract new entrants from the likes of Google, FaceBook, Ebay etc.. all of whom have thousands of employees in Dublin.

I can promise Guinness, shamrocks, old school kickoff and Leprechauns but not the crock of gold.

Got your email Danny. I would like to vote for BOTH of these options actually! They are both great. But I do think it would be nice to return the KO2 World Cup to the English speaking world. Well, as close as possible: Ireland.

Danny, how are you for equipment etc? Maybe a carload from the UK would help.

Der is !

Only this week the Irish government signed an accord whereby we provide peace keeping training to the UK and in exchange we receive surplus weapons of destruction. I understand that this accord also encompasses KickOff kit so we will be calling on our closest neighbors for assistance with this regard.

In the first week of voting we have had a whopping 0 votes for both venues! Sweden also needs to add their invitation text !

I think we need to reach a wider audience that the "regulars". Could we can a mass email sent out to wake up all the sleepers and get their opinions ? Who could do this? Durban, Nikos ? Freshy ?

I have contacted the Swedes, asking for some intel about their willingness to host. I know one of them (main-host) is on vacation though.

Good man, once the Swedes are back we might email all the KOA community to make them aware of the options.

Now this is getting silly, nothing from the Swedes and no votes from anyone else! The sensible crowd have 28(pc) and 37(Amiga) players signed up for August !

It's time to get Durban involved. I will suggest that he email all the koa members in the hope that this will stir up some enthusiasm.

It´s only early February and usually a quiet time regarding ko2, and therefore (guessing here) for many of us a bit early for wcup-bidding. Or...?
