The point is here, my favorite game is the original KO2. Instead my games in WC are always a bad compromise, where the ball behaves differently in different penalty box. Home / away PBD was by far the best solution in my humble opinion.

Freshmaker wrote:Tbh, I haven't practiced any either, so I guess I'll be battling it out with Gianluca. And considering I'm one of the Pbd-scumbags, I'm confident I'll take him out easily.

trust me, when I play against top players a wider / narrower dribbling in a penalty box makes the difference

I know to be unpopular but i must write what I feel. Without the social aspect I would not have joined the tournament, honestly.

What if we gave a war, and nobody showed up...

Gianluca, I bought an original Kick Off 2 World Cup version back in the days. And this, my bought original version, was PBD (this original PBD version has been documented also many years ago in this forum). I also got to know the no-PBD version back then (but never aquired it). I never had the Oracle crack.

So I don't understand what you mean by PBD being cheating. You had a lot of years to get familiar with it, and you played with it in your WC years when there was home/away. You also used it 2 years ago in Milan.

But I do think that it's a little sad that we are not "forced" to play also no-PBD. At times, I have played long periods of no-PBD with Andy, and I played also no-PBD in Lund in 2009 (you can see the videos in the video thread).

For variety, I think it could be fun to play a WC where there was forced no-PBD somehow, maybe by making first/second half of a game no-PBD. It's too late to make such a suggestion for this WC though, of course.

(I also think it could be fun to play with forced A/B tactics rather than a free choice, once again for adding more variety, and avoiding the Lockout suffocating, but we'd have to start such discussions earlier, maybe we can really talk about all this when we meet up, in anticipation of next year's WC).

Surely you mean the year after that? You don't attend world cups during odd years. :P

If we had a good long forum war before the WC, I might just make an exception. :lolo:

Behave or I lock the post!

At the end of the day the choice of PBD or No PBD is made and clear to everyone playing.

If would only be cheating if it was hidden, it's not thus its a choice - discussion ends here.

We should totally have some kind of subforum where anything goes. Then we could have forum wars there, and the rest of the forum could be kept nice and sanitized, and people could just avoid the subforum if they preferred. I suggest we name it "The Edge".

PS. I think we should ban PBD.

"In anticipation of the next year's WC"

Dagh, you take for granted there will be a world cup next year. I assume you are about to post your world cup 2015 bid then. I''ll wait to read it eagerly.

Believe me, the first thing we can really talk about when we meet up is not suffocating Lockout or tactic variety.

Gianni I am worried as well. Let's talk about WC 2015 face to face, we must keep the WC tradition alive.

What Gianni said. As much as we are all retro fans here, these discussions about rules and changes belong in the past. There is no world cup fairy that delivers the competition to you every year; a handful of us are working very hard behind the scenes to make the numbers, and as you may have noticed we are struggling. Any world cup may be the last world cup and the sad thing is that we probably won't even know it in advance. We don't even bother discussing rules and such any more, we steer clear of anything that might cause a single member to say "if they do that, I'm not going".
