Rules for the WC / UPDATED Poll

Postby coldie » Tue Oct 08, 2013 4:52 pm

Hi!

So we have the yearly vote about the autoslides. Should it be enabled or not at this years WC?

Updated Poll 11/10

Could you clarify the question?

Are we saying yes or no to:

1. Allowing autoslides/autoheaders
2. Allowing the fix for autoslides/autoheaders
3. Allowing unintentional slides
4. Allowing the fix for unintentional slides

Not wanting to start a heated debate, but asking a question.

Do we have to vote about the same thing every year?

I'm happy with last years result but can imagine to have a vote right before the tournament. I think thats easier than trying to reach all the people in the www?

sorry mate, as Steve said the question isn't clear.

I think the question should be -

Should the Autoslide fix be allowed - YES/NO

(and possibly an option to refrain from answering/don't mind)

Are we having a vote on each option?

I thought the only one we ever voted on these days (as Freshie says) is the TRAPFIX option, generically it has been voted AGAINST in the past few years (certainly in milan) and thus had to remain disabed, although also need to make it clear that Steve has FIXED the issue with trapfix now so that its not quite as big an issue)

Mark, why to point out just on Milan? If I remember correctly, the the Artificial Simplified Trapping (AKA Trapfix) has been introduced in 2007. Since then we had 7 world cups. Just only in one world cup the Trapfix has been used: Birmaigham 2011 in the town of Trapfix supporters.
Said that, I'll be glad to play with or without the trapfix, according the rule set will be applied.

btw, thanks organizers to open this thread, I was going to post this question by myself but you rightly anticipated me :)

As said by Steve and Mark, it would be better to post the question in different terms, seen that there are 2 separate settings each.

Gianno, until Milan I wasn't aware of Trapfix, so my comment was based on my knowledge of the 'facility' :)

As you know I do not use Trapfix myself, I just simply wasn't aware of it until Birmingham and then realised we disabled it in Milano (which I am now a supporter of obviously!)

well, after thinking about and talking with mike, we have another proposal.

the vote should be only available to people, who will attend this year world cup. with a poll it's not possible to avoid votes from people who will not attend and it looks like, that we will not reach each player who will attend.

we thought about, that we make a poll with all the attenders of this years world cup on friday evening, if this is ok for you. so, every challenger get's his chance to vote (also the players who aren't active in this forum) and the majority will decide.

how do you think about this?

I agree too. Please mind the phrasing, there are two different things we need to vote on: Autoslides and unintended slides. A "don't know/don't care" option should also be there.
