Waynie v Sid ... The battle continues

Postby Sid » Tue Nov 22, 2011 1:18 pm

Prior to WC2011 Birmingham, Waynie and Sid were dormant forces of the Kick Off World, with every passing day their powers fading, and their enthusiasm for the great game dwindling...

(oh you remember him, you know KOA's only professional diver... better known as SCUM!?
>> oh yeah, Waynie, thats the guy!)

Well, we are back!! albeit with no skill or direction controls of where to kick the ball (I'll speak for myself!).
Just a few days before the WC, we played each other in some "friendlies" to shake the cobwebs off. The results were:

Sid 5 - 5 Waynie
Sid 5 - 5 Waynie
Sid 3 - 3 Waynie
Sid 1 - 2 Waynie
Sid 5 - 6 Waynie
Sid 2 - 3 Waynie
Sid 3 - 0 Waynie

Fairly even all the way through, esp on goals, and 3 draws, irrespective of 3 wins to 1 to Waynie.

The WC2011 saw Waynie and Sid paired together in the Silver group stages on Day 2:
Waynie 4 - 2 Sid.
To be fair, Waynie should've won by more!

Revenge match in the 3/4 place of the Silver Cup knockouts:
Sid 3 - 3 Waynie (FT)
Sid 5 - 8 Waynie (AET) ... hitting 3 lobs in the dying minutes to claim victory!

Waynie finished 19th overall in the WORLD, and Sid 20th... my highest position?
Tonight Waynie gets presented his medal, and also rematch games!!!
It will be interesting to see how we compare after our WC experiences...
Have we got any better...?
Will we stay now and take over the world...?
The answers are on the pitch... GAME ON!

GOALS Sid 35 v 38 Waynie
WINS Sid 4 v 5 Waynie

Waynie is still the champ! He received his WC2011 19th place medal with honour before the games, and even in the end game decided to turn his "scum" switch off. We both played the penultimate game with lobs disallowed  , and it was interesting as we had to dribble the ball and play slightly differently. Waynie adapted his game much better than I did, and if he adds this to his natural lobbing game then he will be unstoppable...
...mark my words, I am training Waynie to be elite!!! 8)

It was good to play again. We were definitely better than pre-WC2011, but not any better than in the actual competition itself, well Day 2 (let's not even mention Day 1 for me!!!!). I knew where my failings were tonight, and have been evident for quite some time, why take shots that I know will not go in, when I SHOULD trap and move!?! :bang:

It was good to play again... Though you know you are in trouble when you sneak off work early, and then also fib to the partner that you are still at work! Honest, it was another woman, not Kick Off!!!

CLOSE! The closest games are always the best imo so this must have been a lot of fun. Sounds like your WC positions were spot on with Waynie just edging it. Liked the way you mixed it up with the goal constraints too. And lol your fib!
