Right, there's been plenty of updates today and I'm pleased to see that most people have confirmed, have guaranteed their room and are defininets for the World Cup. Although strangely Robert Swift is yet to book a room...c'mon Rob! You'r later booking a room than you are for most tournaments - and thats saying something!

I never said that and certainly never thought of contacting 3rd party sites. Neither did anyone else it seems. If we did it again then we'd suggest it certainly. But it's been hard enough getting people to contact the Hotel directly, let alone scour the Internet for the best deal.
Peter/Wolf and Panni/Joerg have both got different deals anyway despite using the same 3rd party site. Meanwhile anyone who reads this thread will have the same deal for all. Also, we'r not quite comparing like for like here because you have a twin executive room which is costing you £28.33 a night. Meanwhile their double room is costing them £26.83 each. Thats a price different of £2 but it's not like for like...So you'r paying an extra £2 a night for a room which is far bigger. I quote this from the Hotel:
Double executive rooms are therefore more spacious (than double...double rooms dont have enough room for x2 twin beds), these rooms have a super king size bed which are zipper beds which means these rooms can be used as both a double / twin room where the zipper beds can be separated. Guests also have use of a bathrobe in the executive rooms and complimentary bottle of mineral water.
I wonder if expedia's deals are only for Double Rooms? I know a double room now is £15 more than the price the KOA has got.
So basically you are paying £2 more but you have the added advantage of switching the type of room - which you wouldnt have been able to do had it been done and dusted with Expedia and you have a bigger room too.
