I just called the hotel and changed from single to double room. I am going to share with Freddy B.

Just reserved my single room from 11th to 14th. However, I'd be interested in sharing so don't hesitate to contact me in case you're looking for company. (Apart from constant snoring I'm considered to be quite handsome... )

Why is this thread titled "Update on Page 6"? I can't see anything there.

************ UPDATE ****************************** UPDATE ****************************** UPDATE ****************************** UPDATE

Great news that Michael Ma and Nick H have booked their rooms for the World Cup, however, the following have NOT booked their rooms. Also, for people who wish to have 3 people in a Twin/Executive room...the third bed is a childs bed and this will be an additional £10.

Please be aware that the rooms are only being held for us until 11th October - THATS TOMMOROW - and will be released to members of the general public after this date. So if you don't book before then you may well have to find alternative accomodation which will invariably cost more and certainly wont be as convienant as have the tournament room is the same location as your Hotel room

YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED FOR BOOKING EARLY. All you'r doing is guaranteeing your room.

I spoke to Joerg P at the German Champs and he told me he got a better (special) deal with a third party
online hotel broker. Something like "stay 3 nights and pay 2".

I thought we got the best deal possible :(
Steve, can you talk to the hotel, if there is a way to get cheaper deals for the KickOff group as well ?

As far as I know Joerg P travels with Peter S and Wolfram H - so my remark refers to those 3.

Frank, your room is going to cost you £28.33 a night :?o: ...you won't find a better deal than that.

I have talked with Joerg and has gave me all the information - thankfully they are staying at the KOA Hotel but they booked via Expedia. Awaiting info on charges.
As for Expedia...these guys no doubt exchange millions of pounds with all manner of venues and so can offer different deals.

I have a room booked for my brother and I since 8th August ... are you basing this list on me not telling you, or the hotel?

Hi Simon, really appreciate the reply matey. Im basing it on the Hotel telling me (or not)... did you book it under the KIC120311 reference? If not that might explain why you'r not on file...however...superb news on you guys booking!

Right, there's been plenty of updates today and I'm pleased to see that most people have confirmed, have guaranteed their room and are defininets for the World Cup. Although strangely Robert Swift is yet to book a room...c'mon Rob! You'r later booking a room than you are for most tournaments - and thats saying something!

I never said that and certainly never thought of contacting 3rd party sites. Neither did anyone else it seems. If we did it again then we'd suggest it certainly. But it's been hard enough getting people to contact the Hotel directly, let alone scour the Internet for the best deal.

Peter/Wolf and Panni/Joerg have both got different deals anyway despite using the same 3rd party site. Meanwhile anyone who reads this thread will have the same deal for all. Also, we'r not quite comparing like for like here because you have a twin executive room which is costing you £28.33 a night. Meanwhile their double room is costing them £26.83 each. Thats a price different of £2 but it's not like for like...So you'r paying an extra £2 a night for a room which is far bigger. I quote this from the Hotel:

Double executive rooms are therefore more spacious (than double...double rooms dont have enough room for x2 twin beds), these rooms have a super king size bed which are zipper beds which means these rooms can be used as both a double / twin room where the zipper beds can be separated. Guests also have use of a bathrobe in the executive rooms and complimentary bottle of mineral water.

I wonder if expedia's deals are only for Double Rooms? I know a double room now is £15 more than the price the KOA has got.
So basically you are paying £2 more but you have the added advantage of switching the type of room - which you wouldnt have been able to do had it been done and dusted with Expedia and you have a bigger room too.
