Re: PLAYER MANAGER SAVE DISK TOOL v1.2 ( FULL NAME EDITING )

Postby Cowboy » Mon Nov 22, 2010 5:51 pm

I understand now, thats great.

Sorry if you've done it before on a post, but I'd be very grateful if you would tell me how to hex edit the stats. I have used hex editors before, I just can't find the right data in the save.adf

I gave the name editing feature a try for a couple of hours yesterday. Excellent stuff. It's too bad that the Kick Off & PM games are designed the way they are. Having to edit both the Player Manager disk and the save disk means that you can't use the save disk in Kick Off 2 and get new names. Plus, the editor won't work with the images WHDLoad uses which is a shame as that's the only one I play these days, I really don't have any patience left for floppy disks.

It should be said that this guy is the first one who managed to address the initials problem and solve it. Using a Hex Editor to edit the names was always possible, but the initials ruined it; it's one thing to have S.D.R.Alkis or C.Robert and another thing to be able to have a perfectly correct lineup of S.Camber, G.Torchio etc. Darren, if you can get in touch with this person do you think you could ask him to work on a Kick Off 2 editor? It would be awesome if we could create custom disks with KOAers in Team A/B.

Excellent! Seen as he's already done all this work, the KO2 disk shouldn't be too much trouble for him.

While we're at it, can we also give him the Player Manager version WHDLoad uses to see if his editor can support it as well? I'll send you the file in the afternoon.

I doubt that KO2CV will take kindly to any external modification, there are layers of protection against any tampering.
Ye olde oracle disk would probably be the easiest target for such an operation.

But who would want to go back to Oracle after KO2CV? :(

Darren, these two files are the Player Manager image (Disk.1) and the Data Disk image (Disk.2) used by the WHDLoad slave. Can you please ask if we can have support for these too? I'm dying to start a new Player Manager career with new names and a very strong opposition but I don't want to do it with floppy disks!

Actually, Disk.2 can already be read and edited by the SaveDisk Tool, it's Disk.1 that is not recognized as a Player Manager ADF.

We have studied the ADF you supplied. The executable file within appears to be encrypted and is therefore not recognised by our tool. Either WHDLoad has encrypted it or the WHDLoad patch was applied to an uncracked ADF.
In theory the name changing feature could also be applied to Kick Off 2 if the underlying code is similar and non-encrypted. However this falls beyond the scope of the PM tool and would be better suited to a dedicated separate sister application.
No members are currently available to begin new projects but a Kick Off 2 tool will be designed and a member may choose to develop it in future.
Thank you for your continued interest and assistance,
The UB Team

Just to reiterate, if the WHDLoad patch can be applied to a cracked ADF then you may have success.
