I'm talking about default pitches only of course, not custom ones.

Unless I missed one, there were exactly 10 pitches in all the Kick Off games that were released before the departure of Dino from ANCO.

Can I vote for the Atari ST pitch?

(Nice topic, most of the pitches I've never seen before!)

I should add that:

-The original pitch was featured in Kick Off, Kick Off Extra Time and Player Manager although the latter did not have the score bar at the bottom.
-Wet, soggy and plastic pitches were featured in Kick Off 2, Kick Off 2 Enhanced, Kick Off 2 Final Whistle and Kick Off 2 Return to Europe.
-Normal pitch was used in Kick Off 2, Kick Off 2 Enhanced and Kick Off 2 Final Whistle.

The other five pitches were unique for the games mentioned in my first post.

Nice thread Alkis - you don't realise how many different pitches there are until laid out like this. I have this urge to play them all!! :)

Interesting poll too. The best looking pitch isn't necessarily one that you prefer to play on, of course. Instinctively I like normal pitch because of the competition-standard 'ball' attributes but I also quite like the look of the wet pitch for its differentness.

Looking at this thread caused me wonder and it's a question for Steve, I guess. How difficult would it be to have a CV switch that allows you to play on different pitches whilst retaining the attributes of a normal pitch? Only a passing thought of course but it could add a bit of variety, and maybe encourage us to enjoy the other pitches more.

And there's something I've wondered about that special wembley pitch for a while now. I have this vague recollection (though this could be a figment of my imagination!) that the pitch was surrounded by a different wembley-style stand? When I last loaded it into winuuae, it was just like Alkis' image above - no stadium and blank advertising boards? I'm assuming I'm mistaken but anyone remember for sure?

It's easy to decouple the pitch graphics from the associated ball behaviour, should the need arise!

Of course any of Gianni's creations are pure works of art compared to any of these :D

What Steve said! I must admit the thought of starting a CV gallery thread of all of Gianni's customised pitches did cross my mind....one day! 8)

For now, here's the KOA graphics thread: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=13686
