1-2 leaked in the 90:th. No luck for Birmingham. Wont get much closer to survival than that

Sad to see Birmingham goes down
Damn day 35, where they not made it vs Wolverhampton!

Exciting last day but gutted for Birmingham. As an Everton supporter who's survived 2 x final day of the seasons on goal difference I can only imagine how upsetting it is to be so close. Wolves fans must have thought it was all over at 3-0 down at half time.

On a plus note ... cracking goal for Jermaine Beckford after Everton were reduced to 10 men against Chelsea

Thanks fellas.
Fine lines and all that, but the table doesn't lie - the harsh reality is that we were the third worst team over the whole season. You're right Volker that key results cost us and if we could have turned one or more of our 15 draws into wins, it might have been different. Disappointing though it was, Spurs 90th winner, didn't actually relegate us. Even at 1-1, due to results elsewhere, we were heading for the drop. 1-1 would have left us tied on points and goal difference but still with an inferior goals-scored record to Wolves. Knowing this, we desperately sought that second goal, only to get caught ourselves. Better to go down fighting. Full credit to Wolves though, who's late good form deserved survival. Same goes to Wigan. As it is, just like Thorsten and Frank's Frankfurt, Bluenoses will face life in the 2nd tier but if we can both bounce back anything like Hertha have done, I'm sure we'll all be over the moon once more. We'll see....
After the joy of cup glory, we have the sorrow of relegation but like the Blues anthem tells us, we must all keep right on!

Got my ticket to the League 1 play off final. Looks like we will have more than double the number of fans there than Peterborough as we have already sold 28,000 of our 35,000, whereas they have only sold 13,000!

You may be relegated ... but you've still won more silverware than Arsene Wenger recently !

I just looked up your league encounters and see Peterbourough took 4 points off Hudderfields this season, though you did beat them in the cup, which is very much what a play-of final is. Dare you make any predictions? It'll be a special day, I'm sure, so let us know how it goes - and hope the result is the right one!

I can see us winning it in extra time. Looks like the final ticket sales are around 31,000 for Town and just under 15 for Posh, so hopefully we can make shitloads of noise and be the 12th man.

Gutted for Sir Clive but thrilled for Thorsten!
