It has been 7½ years since Robert ”Swift” Andersson and his fellow James Lockerbie came from the British Isles to meet up with Glenn Løite, the bald Norwegian runt and his cyborg brother Klaus to play a 5 player tournament with 4 rounds where the host was demolished and demoralized with 16 straight defeats.

Well enough about those not entirely sweet memories.


LUND II.

I'm pleased to welcome you to make sure that the flourishing academic village of Lund (population 107.000) experiences yet another dazzling KO2 event. Let's aim for a one day tournament and in the evening I'd like to suggest that we book us some places in a local sports bar to enjoy the deciding World Cup qualifying match between Denmark and Sweden.

Time: 10.30 a.m. (or earlier)

Format
The competition will be a one day event, and If we do not have too few partipicants, It will be a straight league with one round against each player. We aim for 15-20 matches per player.

BTW. Sorry for the clash with the UK Chaympionships. Searched hard to find a suitable date where the gaming room was available. It was this date or no tournament. With proper advance planning this will hopefully be avoided in the future but this tournament I don't want it to be too close to the World Cup.

Well, I take it for granted that Robert "Swift" Anderson will return to Lund this time!? He has never seemed too interested in winning the UKC anyway

But havent you already had the german champs this season? Tried to find info about the german tournament but failed to find it. I suggest you cancel it and we have a nordic/german gathering in Lund

I thought of that the second i found the ukc post. But as i mentioned i'd overseen the thread with the date 10.10.09 and then i'd already booked the premises, checked date with some people.... checked my own schedule.....seems others have found that date suitable as it's about one month before the wc. I also thought the UKC were held earlier...like this weekend.

Without promising too much...i aim for a sooner return of ko2 to Lund this time. I'd also very much like a nordic championships in Östersund again as I enjoyed being there very much the last time or perhaps in Norway.

Just read, that the Deutsche Meisterschaft is in September now, so I will see if I could make it to Lund. So hopefully there is some prize for the last place . But first I have to look, If I could find a way to Lund and back.

there are ferries to Trelleborg from Travemünde, Rostock (TT Line http://www.ttline.com/de/Germany/),
Sassnitz and Rostock (Scandlines http://www.scandlines.de/de/de-2.htm)

there are also the options of the Bridges and the ferry to Denmark combined with the Öresund bridge to Sweden.

and a another (cheaper?) option i think is the ferry which is mainly for trucks but which also Travemünde-Malmö. (http://www.finnlines.com/passenger_ger/). Slowest option though.

Agreed, the kickoff2-community nr 1(?) traveller (Thorsten) would be great having with us in Lund! Btw, how long would a cardrive be for you? Remeber Lund is extremely close to the danish boarder, so when you reach the danish boarder you´re more or less already in Lund
