Good conversation Pedro.... you won that! Pls feel free to bring Mrs Pedro though, she is very nice.

Excellent news Sid! 8)

With your addition we've officially got just 5 confirmed players now. There's a similar number of players who are very interested but unable to confirm until nearer the time, a few who definately can't make it and then about 20-25 or so that we're still awaiting reples from! If its anything like last year, we didn't reach the full quota of players until the last few weeks but hopefully we'll get there a bit sooner. Phase I of recruitment was the massmailing of KO2 players/other forum threads simply to annouce the tourney. Phase II (individual approaches/badgering) is to come.... :)

Anyway, great to hear Superman has returned. Great for the UKCs, great for KORA and great for KO2 mate!

Garry, am I one of the 5 confirmed? If not, add me. It makes sense to maintain a list of confirmed players in the first post of the thread.

Yes, Rob - you're part of the infamous five. Have (finally) updated the top post - been meaning to do that for ages, sorry.

SimonK said that he's very probable in attending...about 90%, which is fantastic news :)

But with the clock ticking, it's most important that we find out why people WONT be attending. As numbers stand at the moment, there won't be a UK Champs in 2009...whcih is kinda sad when you think about it. Sure, the World Cup is what started the KOA but for me, a KOA wouldn't live and breath if it wasn't for the smaller regional tournaments and bigger events like the UK Champs.

If the KOA was all about having the money to travel over Europe whilst we'r in a recession then it's no better than the over priced action we see in the Premier League. However, the KOA is more flexible than that. Some might not be able to travel abroad whether that be for lack of money or lack of time (a whole weekend plus days off work for travelling) but regional tournaments have the ability of reaching everyone in that particular country, regardless of finance or time.

It's one day...ONE DAY where the entire UK scene of Kick Off 2 fans come together and if it was cancelled this year then it'd be kinda sad really and also mean that another World Cup in England would be light years away. Don't let the Fifa's and the PES's of this world win...keep the Amiga and more importantly, Kick Off 2 alive ffs.

I am especially interested to know why Steve Camber thinks he can get away with not coming to this.

Looks like I will have to begin the annual arse-kick soon. We had a good turn out to Luton, as well. Some of the absences on that list are a bit difficult to understand. Maybe people just don't read the forum.

Steve (Evil) can you please work on firming up the interested into confirmed? Then we have 10 people. I have always said that the quorum for the UKC's is 15 people and I am not about to surrender this year. I believe we should be looking to have two Greenaways, three Andy's, two Beards + a muppet... these are the ones that will be hunted down, plus a few other people that think they can hide from me.

Good news - I received an email from Steve C yesterday evening and he's very firmly interested in maintaining his 100% UKC attendance record but it isn't able to confirm just yet. I've updated the top post accordingly together with Simon K's confirmed status! 8)

Confirmed
Garry C
Steve E
Mark W
Robert S
Mandhir S
Simon K

Interested (awaiting confirmation)
Graham S
Andy G
Pedro Q
Jon G
Steve C

Declined
Paul M
Simon B

Awaiting Reply
Everyone else!

I nevertheless share Steve E's concern raised above but still am confident the player numbers will rise, especially now the Hand of God will start sticking the Foot of God where the sun don't shine. :lolo: :lolo: Nice one Robert! Rest assured, myself and Steve E are continuing to chase/encourage KOA'ers in the background too, and we'll update as and when we hear more.

Having said that, I believe we have until 10 September 2009 to cancel the hotel booking without charge so in other words we have until this date to get 10+ players confirmed and make UKC 2009 a go-er. If you're reading this and you're interesting in coming along - come on, help make this happen now! The UKC needs you! :)

Organising can be a slow and trying process at times but the rewards of an KOA day of laughs and friendship with plenty of KO2 highs and lows is well worth it. Only the other day I watched again the epic finale to the UKC 2008 and just listening to the background jokes and the match commentaries, it had me in stiches again....

I have spoken to Steve Camber and I believe the problem is that he cannot CONFIRM attendance. I am pretty sure that he will attend if at all possible, so not much more we can do there. If we end up with 14 +Steve (unconfirmed) then I think we are OK.

Garry do you have contact information for Andy Harris (Deadfrog) as I don't see him on MSN today? We should be working to get all three Andys, and Andy H can definately take care of himself and Andy Ellis. They don't have far to come, and were at both Luton and last year's event, so I am looking at them as prime targets.
