I did find it really bad that he started supporting Notts Forest as soon as you posted on the KOA that you were their greatest fan..

He is not even trying to be subtle about his copycat antics now..

I will most likely be available from 9pm tonight.

However I doubt there is much use in me vs any of you lot to be honest so I may just come and spectate and talk in chat before finding some noob online to destroy :)

We had a great night of CNC3 last night...

No arguments, constructive gameplay.. and some awesome 1v1 matches followed by us getting hammered in a 3v3 match.. we are such noobs !! :D

Robert is taking CNC3 to the next level and taking us along for the ride.. awesome.

Its Tuesday night.. that means its C&C3...

If I suggest a 1v1 tournament I will get moaned at by Robert, so I wont do that.. Instead, lets just all turn up at different times and wait about for everyone to arrive... then argue about what to do next.. end up playing 4v4 against 4 unknown elite dudes ..

Awesome fun last night.

I think the SCRIN overpowered discussion may want to be resumed as last night they certainly did not appear to be.. I think GDI are overpowered after last nights results..

Either that or 2v2 tactics need to be reviewed. :D

Great to win a 3v3 against the yanks as well, and that 2nd loss on 3v3 we did ourselves proud against those high ranking players. We only just lost it really.. they did not have many more units left than us.

I don't think that Scrin/GDI overpoweredness came into it at all. It was merely a case of the tactics employed by Steve/Tesla.

Turtle always beats Rush, and we tried rushing twice. Both times the Disintegrators arrived and found the base bristling with turrets and units, meaning we'd fucked our economy and it was just a case of waiting until they amassed enough Preds and got the railgun upgrade, then bye bye.

Third game we altered the approach and got to full tech before attacking but, once again, a defensive strategy was employed - we had to fight the GDI army plus their base defences...meaning our attack force got wiped and our undefended bases fell to the counterattack.

Thing is, Redzone Rampage is a small, tight map with
1) No distant Tib fields to fight over
2) No opportunity to outflank and hit the GDI bases from undefended angles

Let us remember that, in game four (Coastline) Scrin were victorious. Also in the 1v1 with Kam I had straight after (Tournament Rift), Scrin were victorious.

I'd put games 1-3 down to poor/predictable tactics used by the Scrin players and lack of adaptation to the map. The first game I even built an Explorer unit, d'oh, I thought it was the one where you had to grab the tiberium in the centre (there was none). Basically if you can only attack the enemy from one side and that side is bristling with turrets, don't attack. I have no doubt that Scrin can win that map every time with the correct tactics:

What we should have done was sit back and build up our forces without attacking. Scrin have Growth Accelerators so our Tiberium and income would have continued after the GDI had dried up. We could have waited until they left the safety of their bases and then slaughtered them in the open with air power, AWAY from their many base AA defences. Then it would have been a simple clean up. Our mistake was to be too aggressive when there was no room to manouver around fixed defences. Scrin can win a stalemate like that. We just got our tactics wrong.

What's more concerning is that, since I pointed out to Steve C that rockets in APC's kills all Scrin units, he's applied this and is now a 25.76% more effective player. We had a 1v1 later which turned into a stalemate, but I decided to concede after 40 minutes as Steve was looking the more likely winner.

A good post Robert.

I wonder who would win a 1v1 tournament now.. out of our group of players..

I still think Robert has the edge but with KO2CV getting much stronger and Tesla putting up a bit more of a fight.. I think the outcome of the games is not as clearcut as it may haev been just two weeks ago..

May 2009 we should have our 2nd, 1v1tournament.. meanwhile I would like to start getting good at 2v2 games as I do not seem to be that good at them, compared to my 1v1 skillZ.. (they are also not that good..but better than 2v2.. lol.)

It's also good have a series of games with the same ally as you can start learning team tactics.. rather than switching every single game.

The APC+Rocket combo is a well known anti-scrin measure. You are a fool not to use it.
