Garry, the link for the tournament at the Analysis Institute seems to be directing to an old London tournament. Anyway, thanks a lot for the great work!

Thanks to all for a great weekend! Just arrived home and will post more later.

Tillykke Dagh.. Meget imponerende, men er sgu ikke overrasket
Og endnu mere imponerende at du slet ikke har trænet siden VM, men alligevel vandt i overbevisende stil

Well played Dagh. Who did you and Gianni drop points against? It's a lot of results to wade through for the details!

Awesome work Mr. Evil, superb 5th place.

I lost to Sandro in a very good effort from him, fully deserved 8-7 win (will post more later, obviously). Gianni lost to me, drew his nemesis Jon G, and James Beard (?) as well.

Might as well write something right now.

Thanks Robert and everybody who helped out for this tournament. Was great to finally meet Pedro and all the other KOAers whom I've not met before as well as those I already know, of course. Even Mark and Haydn paid a visit! Only the younger Beard was absent, I believe his brother told me it's because he's gay. The hotel was nice, the lobby with bar was perfect. And Gianni, tell Flavio he's a good room mate, hope he enjoys London. Shame of course that most the Brits only turned up for Saturday, too little time for a good chat.

About my Kick Off: To be honest, I played badly most the time. For a while - about half my games - I seemed to miss every damn header and none of my attacking options seemed to work. I managed a few really scummy wins like in the first match vs Glenn or later vs Simon, the scores make them looks like deserved victories (both 6-1) but they really weren't. On the upside I'm pleased to have scored "so many" goals, my best average by far. And that despite a number of games where I hardly scored at all (but I didn't even create any chances in those games). But also a number of games where I scored 5 or more goals, including the memorable 8-7 vs Garry, that's totally unheard of. Sadly, about half my goals seemed to be diagonal lobs. It's also got to be said again: I'm hopeless against good 532 players. They destroy all my attacking options and despite the more defensive formation the game seems to totally take part in my half, which leads to heavy defeats (2-9 vs Robert, 1-7 vs James).

About the autoslides: We played an autoslide-free tournament and yesterday I told Robert that I certainly noticed it but it didn't seem to be a major point in tournament play for me. I far more have to concentrate on my opponents and their deadliness than I care about autoslides or not, they don't seem to be a big factor. But I have to admit it's nice that not once did I "lose" Cox through an autoslide or autoheader, it's so frustrating to concede goals from these situations, so I guess I'll move into the autoslide-free-camp. I also didn't concede nor was given a penalty, but I still think that works both ways, for every autoslide-penalty there's also a goal saved by an autoslide.

Well played, everybody, altogether a very strong field of players. Well done Dagh. And well done Andy G (Logos on the forum): It was his first tournament, excellent performance. And I really hope the other two Andys aren't upset about their results, a few more tournaments and a bit of practice is all you need.

Yeah, considering it was Andy G's first tournament he did superb!

Cheers to Rob for getting everyone together for what was a superb, action packed and high octane tournament! Was a very nice touch in having free crisps and sandwiches too. :)
Had a great time and although I got off to a wobbly start, it was my best showing yet! Started off with a 4-3 win over Volker whereby my winner was a lob!
Enjoyed the game with Rob immensly! Had to lol at the end where the ball nearly looped into the net.

Had such a laugh at the evening meal too. Sandro...get your motorbike vids on youtube pronto! :) It's just a shame that time was against us as I could have chatted to everyone for ages.

With the real football and then the meal...it really topped off a great day. Great to meet new faces such as Andy G, Volker Klaus, Knuts brother, Pedro! The list goes on.
Can't fail to mention all the others too, especially the Italians, Germans, Rodolfo...etc. I always find it fascinating talking to people from overseas and it gives these tournaments a certain flavour which makes for a very special day indeed. Elite! lol at Allesandro's shouts of 'evil' when I was next to play him

Really pleased to have finished in 5th place too and had some fantastic games...my fave would probably be either against Sandro or Panayoutis. Really frenetic with lots of goals...also glad I didn't disgrace myself against Gianni and Dagh - the two titans who battlled it out until the very last game.
Dagh remarked to me at the end of the lunch that I had improved since Athens (cheers for that bud :) ) and I remarked that he himself went one better too and came out victorious. To keep your concentration in all those games can't be easy so a huge well done. You knew it was an important final game with the crys of 'yesssss' when he scored the first goal of the game.

btw, can't believe Martin Beard went a whole day without winning.

Special mention to Pana for taking the trouble and time to bring three joysticks over from Greece. 8)

Undefeated performance by Martin Beard and elite defence despite using 433.

Cheers guys, enjoyed the weekend (apart from the results!) - clearly more practice required!

I have to say, the quality of opponent was crazy and I can't imagine how much practice you need to get there. Fair play - Gianni is simply awesome, no 'scripted routine' goals, just pure aceness.

Good to see you all again/meet you all, and hope to do it again soon.
