Sorry Robert I agree with others your ranking system sucks.

I know for a fact that I am on a par with Steve Camber and Martin Beard.

I can beat them as easily as they can beat me.

Also you put me below them both on rankings and yet me and camber for example have played each other twice in a tournament and its 1 win each with the same number of goals scored.

This applies to games between me and you also. Swift 1-0 Beard 3-2....

I am also stunned that your thrashing by Rikki has no affect on your ranking.

Where are my mass of points for getting a draw against Alkis (THE WORLD CHAMPION) ?

Then there is the fact that i narrowly loose to both Rikki and Bill21 where you got completely terminated.

Finally Alkis should always be ranked number 1 until the next world championship.

I will disregard any ranking system as I dont believe it is possible to rank players.

I believe there is an elite group of 6/8 players but that is it. Then there is a single player (NAZIM) who fits between the elite and the CLASS B players that includes me, you, my brother, camberman and all those others in the top half of the glos tournament.

thanks for your attempt but unfortunately I think it will cause more controversy than a simple grouping of players into different categories.

Sorry but its complete and utter bollocks.

This is just something Rob's done and fair play to him, where is everyone elses efforts?

Yes I can see obvious flaws in it but he has nothing better to go on.

Alkis should be further up but Swifty cant just make up stats so that it works out that way, the idea is to get something set in stone and then work to it, thats what hes done. If we carry on using this with every tournament it may give us a better feel of an all time champ, it doesn't work as a 'who is best now' but rather who is best overall, the thing is a good bit of work, I don't agree with all the placings but I can see how they came to be that way, in 10 years time we will be able to look back and see who is most consistent.

If you don't like it then do something better yourselves....

You are all a bunch of moaning women....

Sorry Mark but I disagree with your findings on this matter.

If you are going to judge players then you have to do it completely and utterly correctly or not at all.

Otherwise you will get loads of controversy which has happened with this posting.

Its simply too dificult to rate one player higher than the other but i believe it is possible to place players into a grading system.

I and no one else would grade me in the same grouping as Mr Dig, Alkis, Rikki, Bill21 etc.

But I would challenge anyone to put me in a grade below Steve Camber, Martin Beard or Robert Swift.

Lets just try and be more realistic as to what we can achieve rather than upset everyone.

I agree with everyones comments, I just think its unfair to have a go at Rob thats all.

He has just come up with a rating system that in a way works, not like everyone would like to see it (and I also beleive it doesn't look at all right from what I beleive should be the rankings) but at least he has had a go.

I don't know how we can come to something that would work and keep everyone happy, but as long as people realise what Rob has done is not set in stone and 100% true then it can at least be used in some way.

I dunno I'm just David Seaman....

Its not that I want to have a go at Rob cause I appreciate everything he has done for the KOA since joining its just that ranking players like this will inevitably caus controversy.

If that is what Rob wants then fair enough and I know he is man enough to take the flack as well.

Myself I will always go to my own opinion on how good a player I am. When I have people like Gianluca coming up to me after Dartford saying "I am glad I did not have to play you.. you are brilliant" it means a lot to me and encourages me to practice more and more in ko2. Rikkis comments in the pub also encouraged me to practice more and more to force myself into the elite category of KO2 player.

Forget ranking systems and just use grouping or categories of KO2 player.. that is a lot less argumentative.

I agree with you Jimbo...

I don't think we should rank players because it will cause controversy and doesn't actually mean much.

I didn't mean to sound argumentative I just meant that Rob had done something that at least some people can use, so fair play.

Personally even if I was number 1 I would prefer it to stay open and not judged.

I think Robert has made a great attempt at a ranking system - but ultimately it's not going to please everyone ... and in fact it's more likely to piss people off (and I remember the posts after Dartford).

Lets just be satisfied with the tournament results and practice like bastards for the next one so we can all do better.

Yes indeed Mark.

Fair play to Rob he should be the KOA's OFFICIAL STATO MAN.

Now Mark when can we have a Beard Brothers versus Mark Durban rematch..

Then we can rank ourselves above you..
