Old Forum

Back in 2001 before ko-gathering existed, there was the original forum where fresh faces appeared and found their KO2 world was about to go global.

It's still alive. Just..

http://p211.ezboard.com/bkickoff2

Unfortunately the posts are missing, which is slightly annoying, so to the rescue comes the web archive.

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://pub ... /bkickoff2

Not all threads are available but I've just enjoyed a good re-read of some ancient posts.

Clear your diary, grab a hot drink and dive in.

Priceless!

Honestly, how can anyone take the 'lobs from distance shouldn't count' argument seriously? It's part of the game! What about Nayim vs Seaman, or Beckham vs Sullivan?
Robert Swift, 9/25/01.

What's Steve been saying about me then? ;-) I just found this site, brought a smile to my face.
I am indeed honoured to find this website dedicated to my game.
Good wishes to you all
Dino Dini, 7/12/01.

Hmmmm i staying outta this one :) if this is the legit dude then he don't like me too much.
Steve Screech, 7/12/01.

You know, I still have the video that was given to Ely & Stainy as proof of Dino's identity ( discussed here ), but for some reason I can't play it any more. I don't know what kind of codecs it used.

Alkis... download Gspot and load that video in.. it`ll tell you what codecs is needs and whether you have them or not ( in this case it looks like you don`t have them yet ) :D

Yeah I remember.. I gave him a hard time! hence he produced this little video heheh

I even tried uploading it to YouTube and got a "Failed (unable to convert video file)" message.

I'll give Gspot a try.

Thanks for the tip, it turns out I needed the Ligos Indeo Codecs. The videos play fine now. :)

This is great! Man, I so wish I had found the forum back in these days. Seems like you had far more tournies then than we do now :(

We had NO tournies back then! That's why it was so fun, there were no fights yet.

Yes topics were along the lines of

'How long I have played KO2'

'Prove you are the real Steve Screech'

'Prove you are the real Dino Dini'

'Congratulations Durban on reaching 200 posts wow!'

and basically in those days Swifty was the Bad guy, Camber didn't know how to write programs and James Beard was probably the most influential person in the KOA and we all treated him like a god!
