100% agree Sid - I often forget to press the 'p'! And have got this listed at the top of the thread.

The prospect of a match stats analyser! Collecting all the match stats from all the games by player! Sounds statastic but unsure of how practical it might be in the middle of a tourney - insert floppies etc etc

All the game is loaded.. there is no more disk access while playing.. so before the start we make sure there`s a blank floppy in each machine..

not sure how we would go about differentiating them though!

Before each match, rename Team A & B to the players, and insert a 'round' number:

i.e. A= Sid i, B= Waynie i / A= Waynie ii, B= Sid ii
(as numbers would get confusing with the scores)

perhaps?
can also use this floppy to automatically save goals, and then we can upload them in the forum with the results! That would be awesome!

Coming back from fantasy island ;) I've though of a couple more in-game suggestions that make more use of the match stats...

How about mid-way through the first and second halves, display the latest possession and/or territory stats ? A good time to do this might be when the ball goes out for a throw-in ? Not every throw-in, just once or twice each half ?

THROW IN (POSSESSION 50% : 50%)

THROW IN (TERRITORY 30% : 70%)

'Look! I've got 70% territory but I'm still losing the match!' :(

PS I've can email an excel spreadsheet with all of these in, Steve, if its any help? And I've realised I've probably exhausted my CV wishlist quota for the year already! :)

:) Still is mate - only with a few more ways to enjoy and appreciate its greatness! 8) The hope is that the subtle additional information tagged on to existing messages will only add, never take away!

Why not every throw in? every throw in there could be another stat be displayed: possesion, player with the most touches, pass rate, etc.
And of course after every goal kick. the word -goal kick- should not be displayed, but instead of that, time and a stat :)
Come on Steve, you can do it!

Good point, Gunther. Personally I would like that! :) - I wasn't sure if others might think it was too much? As you suggest, maybe if the statistic displayed was randomly selected from a list of stats (e.g possession%, territory%, accuracy%, conversion%, avg goal distance) - that would avoid the display being repetitive and keep it interesting. 8)

These ideas are brilliant, keep em coming guys!

It will be quite interesting when (if?!) these are implemented because I wonder how it will affect each players pyscology?(sp).

Imagine you'r 2-0 up but you see your opponent has had more shots on target etc. He is boosed by this small battle on the pitch whilst you are worried you'r not performing and so he then uses this boost to his advantage and after winning the moral victory, runs home to take a 4-2 win!
