We have spent thousands of words speaking about unintended slides, autoslidess etc.
I played a bit with this version using the new options and I find it really good.
I suggest you to try it, if possible try it with a real opponent and not against the CPU, if you can.
I have to say that most of our suppositions were wrong, because when unintended slides related to fire buttons happenes,
it means that the opponent is really close to you, so, even the ball owner can stop the ball now, it doesn’t mean that he win the dribbling.
And btw, usually we are in a situation like barber with the ball and cox defending.
I had a real great feeling using the new option.
Real big thanks to Steve for his job, giving as to have this great experience of pure kick off.
I hope that the fanatic of “HANDS OFF BUG” will try it the same with critical eye.
In my opinion it is actually possible to express a better kick off now, raising the fun of the game.

Re: KO2CV - 0.99
Just thought I'd post here that the London International 17.2.08 was the first major tournament to adopt the KO2CV switch removing the unintended slidetackle bug, and imho it was definate success. I certainly didn't hear any cries of "you should have sufferred from the unintended slidetackle bug just then! Why did Camber have to fix this????" I would like to think that if anything it enhanced everyone's enjoyment of the game" In fact the biggest compliment perhaps came from possibly the switch's harshest critic, Bbob, who took great delight in telling me he probably would not have scored what proved to be the winning goal against me, had the switch not been activated! Praise indeed!
I'd be interested in any other's feedback of how having the bug switched off affected their tournament ?

You lost a game you would otherwise have drawn, that is not a good thing for you! I wasn't actually delighting in it, I was pointing out to you that you'd just suffered at the hands of the change. If anything, it makes my victory less satisfying because I wouldn't have won with pure KO2 gameplay.gdh82 wrote:In fact the biggest compliment perhaps came from possibly the switch's harshest critic, Bbob, who took great delight in telling me he probably would not have scored what proved to be the winning goal against me, had the switch not been activated! I'm still not in favour of this change but can just about stomach it. If things go much further, then I'll seriously consider stopping playing because it's not right. I can play FIFA or PES if I want a more realistic football experience. KO2 is a retro game that I play for what it is, much as I do with dozens of other retro games. The more changes that get made, the more it detracts from that experience.
I just don't get this constant need for change, we all joined up knowing exactly what KO2 was.

So you would have found it more satisfying if the bug would have caused you to slidetackle taking away the possiblity of having a goal scoring opportunity??????

I would hate you to stop playing BBob - the KOA needs you. I don't see what's hard for you to understand about making the great game ever so slightly and subtly better (the game is still 99% the same imo). The aim here is not change for change sake but to improve the enjoyment of KO2. It seems this is a matter of principle for you ("its not right"?) and your views seem pretty fixed on this, but you're not saying you actually missed the unintended slidetackle bug at the London International are you ?
