I had my first Kaliera games tonight and I loved them!
First I played with Steve, it was my first online game ever so he patiently guided me through the process. We found a server where my ping wasn't that bad and started a game. We had a flawless 50FPS... and I got hammered 3-0! Second game wasn't better, and I lost 4-1! It will get me a while to get used to it, the (almost negligible, but not exactly) delay causes me to miss all my headers and most ball interceptions.
Later on, I played with the man who put this old together, Karsten (Redhair). Although he's mainly a Sensible Soccer player, I didn't play much better and only managed 2-1 and 3-1.
I can see I will get addicted to this! I can't wait for our first online tournament. I bet other can't wait either as it will be their first chance to beat me heavily!
Come on people, we need more players!
Although I'm no more an online virgin I'm still pretty tight

You are assuming correctly. Considering that two players can have different pings=> different delays, a fair game cannot be guaranteed.
Take turns hosting the match and play two matches?

No guarantee, but take turns finding a good host and compare pings.. or something.

I think regulary online tournaments would be much better practice for us all in anticipation of the offline Championships.
Perhaps Durban could restart a seperate online rankings? We could then compare who's good online and who's better offline.
I think thats how they do it on ss.de. Offline is seperate to Online.
