Strange goals

Hi

I am interested in hearing about your strangest, weirdest, oddest, crazyist goal you have ever scored.

Mine was when I ran straight towards the keeper, and I chipped the ball while the keeper was still standing on the line in the goal. Apperantly the keeper must have been qouite short because he couldn't reach the ball, as it slowly fell into the goal behind his back.

Needless to say that this was of course my all-time hero C.Pearson who did it.

This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience because I have never been able to do since then.

Speaking of 'Golden Goals' has anyone thought about setting up a Database of these on the KOA Site. I guess the trickiest part is how to get the files off Amiga / Atari Floppies. My own disks refuse to read on my PC, so they are either corrupted or formatted outside the limitations of the Drive (must get my Atari out of the Loft). Must be a way of seeing other peoples via an Emulated version.

Anyone ??

The strangest goal I've ever scored was actually scored from the off line! I made a shot but the ball roled outside the football ground. Normally the ball should be kicked in by the keeper but it didn't! The ball was still behind the goalposts, so I tried to kick it in again, so we can continue playing. It was funny watching a bounch of players trying to kick the ball, which didn't seem to respond at all...until I managed to shot it and when I made the shot, the ref called it a goal for my team!!!

I can make adf-images of my Golden Goal disks (amiga disk) using some special tools. And there is a tool for PC which can read amiga disks, but you'll need two floppy-drives for that.

Nope, the 880k format of an Amiga disk is apparently impossible to read with pc hardware. There are plans on the net for you to build a adaptor to do so.. but I`ve never tried it, I just adf my stuff, and transfer it across on a pc formatted 720k disk, which by using cross dos, or running that dos thingy on the Amiga ( can read pc disks ) and unpacking on the pc!

Are you saying here Darren that Amiga can actually read pc disks with adf files? Is that possible?

Well, you CAN read amiga floppys on your pc with a new tool called Disk2FDI.. Just take a look at the following website: http://fast.emuunlim.com/disk2fdi/
the only thing you need is a second floppy drive, just like Riempie said.. You can just put an original Amiga floppy in your PC A: Floppy drive and Disk2FDI will make an ADF of it through the second floppy drive (B:)directly on your hard drive.. (You will need a blank pc dos formatted disk in the B-drive)
I hope you all understand, otherwise just download the Disk2FDI package and read the documentation..
I tried it several times and it works perfectly.. I assume you can use your Golden Goals disks with Disk2FDI..

Oh, I needed to read adf files in my amiga... that prog is not for me.

How about the other way. Is it possible to make an Amiga disk from an ADF file ? I'd love to get the Enhanced KO2 onto floppy so I can play it on a real machine <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

Sure, that's no problem if you can get your adf's from your pc to your Amiga.

To get files form your pc to your Amiga you can use:
- CrossDoss with the use of 720KB PC formatted disks
- A serial or parrallel connection between your Amiga and your PC (Programs like Aexplorer, TwinExpress, PC2Amiga, etc..)

After you have transffered your adf to your Amiga then use the Amiga tool 'adf2disk' on your Amiga.. You will only need a blank Amiga 880Kb floppy and the transferred adf-file..

Cheers MrDig, i'll have a bash sometime this week. One further question. How can I split up the file on the PC so I can do it in two stages, there's no way i'll be able to load the whole ADF onto my 1Mb Amiga, is there ??

Well, you can do it with an 1MB Amiga if you have the following:
- A real Amiga (A500+ or higher)
- Kickstart 2.0 (or higher)
- ADF Blitzer (or ADF2DISK)
- 1MB Free RAM (1.5MB Recommended)
- LHA for the Amiga
- LHA for the PC

If the PACKED (with lha) adf of Kick Off 2 enhanced is smaller than 720KB then you can proceed with the following tutorial: http://ale.emuunlim.com/guides/adf-todisk.shtml

If the PACKED adf of Kick Off 2 enhanced is bigger than 720KB then you will have to split the adf on your pc and transfer these 2 splitted files (< 720KB) to your Amiga and join these two files into the original adf file.
I have some Split-Join programs for this kind of operations.. If the packed adf is bigger than 720kb then just reply and I will look for these Split-Join programs on my Amiga/PC..
