PM waits forever in penalty when player is missing

Postby glauschwuffel » Sun Jun 04, 2006 8:51 pm

Hi,

PM waits forever when my team has to shoot a penalty and the player is missing because he was substituted.

Example: Number 10 was injured and had to be substituted by number 14. The cup game ends 1:1, so we have to do penalties. PM starts at player number 11 and when its number 10's turn... nobody is there!

I recall that my orignial Amiga version had this problem, too.

I might add that the player manager is not in the line-up.

Is there any way to to work around this bug? Or isn't this a bug at all and I'm too blind to see the solution? :-)

TIA!

It is a bug indeed, and I don't think there's a way around it.

i am sure camber could fix it.
Infact he could prbly add a pen selection screen to pick your 5 players.

Interesting suggestion!

Should be simple enough to fix the bug anyway. Just don't select players who aren't there ;)

Well, then go ahead and don't let anybody stop you :-)

I'm a little bit surprised that I should be the only one who happens to have stumbled over that bug...

Do you have any documentation about the code or is it just magic in your hands whilst using a debugger?

I've seen the same bug in KO2 (although I think Alkis is certain it's not there!) It will get fixed eventually, one way or another :)

There is no documentation. Take a look at these threads to get an idea of what the code is like.

Perhaps my memory is failing me, note that it's been years since the last time I had to play penalty kicks in Kick Off 2.
Jesus I just had an idea.. I'll post it in the Kick Off 2 CV Suggestions thread!

Are there any 'official' disassembled sources, maybe even in a repository somewhere, maybe even with documentation how to build the final game again?

How is the status of that KORPS thing one can find in the Wikis?

I doubt it.

Such a pity. How about sharing your insights into the code? You seem to be some code-wrangler who might give useful hints for hacking^Wcorrecting the game.

PM is next in the queue, after I've finished messing about with KO2 ;)

What is the legal status of the Kick Off Series? Are the games 'free', i.e. can the ADFs actually be shared like it is done in the Wikis are is there still someone who might sue someone to death?

Is a project on, say, SourceForge possible? ;-)

Steve Screech holds the copyrights of the "Kick Off" name, and we're using the old Amiga versions as we see fit with his blessings.
