Player Manager starting age

Postby Lemml » Tue Aug 02, 2005 10:15 am

Hi,

just curious: would it be possible to change the Player Manager's starting age to 18 or 19 instead of 28 or 29? So that it would be possible to play an entire career?

It's possible.

Just note down all "the numbers" of your player like stamina, resilience, shooting, etc.
Then open a Hex editor and look for those data (all should be together) and the you have a key that it's 28 or 29. That's the key you have to change.

it works!

Indeed, I've tried it and it works. Hexediting the .uss file (the state save file from WinUAE) is obviously the simplest method.

Important is that you enter the skills (Passing, Shooting, Tackling, Keeping) in the hex editor when you look for your player in the .uss file because the other skills are not in the same order as in the in-game Player information menu.

I was able to identify the following block part in the .uss file:

Code: Select all

1D ->  29 -> Age
02 ->   2
01 ->   1
14 ->  20
AD -> 173
46 ->  70
BA -> 186 -> Stamina
82 -> 130 -> Resilience
C2 -> 194 -> Pace
7F -> 127 -> Agility
BD -> 189
06 ->   6
69 -> 105 -> Passing
AB -> 171 -> Shooting
42 ->  66 -> Tackling
39 ->  57 -> Keeping

Image

Then I've changed the hex 1D (age 29) to hex 12 (age 18). After reloading the modified .uss state file my player manager was 18 instead of 29.

There also the history statistics can be found (number of ints etc) and modified.

Cool that it works! :) Enables the possibility to play a real soccer career (at least at one club) in PM1 when you can start a player manager at the age of 18.

Nice!!!!!! :D :D :D
But i cant get the hex editor working.
Should i start a career first and then hex it?

So you are Andreas Oswald??

I've tried your game and i love the single player career, why havent anyone else done that before, i've been wishing for a game like this for years.

Is it possible to use the KO2 file when playing the match in championship soccer??

If you could do that im sure people would pay a lot of money to get it, including me!!! :)

Since I knew there was a HEX editor to modify player manager, no more hours waiting for the right player to come, I modify it and get the player I want.

You need to start a regular game first, then you go into the Squad menu and to your Player Manager's player information screen where the stats Passing, Shooting, Tackling and Keeping are listed. There you save the state with WinUAE (F12, then go to misc menu and save state). This file you load into your hex editor.

You have wrote down the stats of your player and convert them from DEC to HEX. In my case this was:

Passing DEC 105 -> HEX 69
Shooting DEC 171 -> HEX AB
Tackling DEC 66 -> Hex 42
Keeping DEC 57 -> Hex 39

Then you do a hex search after loading the saved .uss file into a hexeditor for your player's skills:

In the example case you search for "69 AB 42 39". Then you will find the hex block for your player that also contains your player's age (1D if your player is 29, 1C if your player is 28). After changing the age to the desired value you save the file again and load the state file in WinUAE again (F12, misc, load state).

Andreas

PS: You won't find any player names because there are only references - so you really need to look for the skills (passing, shooting, tackling, keeping).
