Pre Alpha teaser movie..

Postby Menace » Tue Mar 29, 2005 11:45 am

We're not ready to release a pre-alpha demo yet, as we want to put in a few more features before we do that.. but in the meantime you can have a look at a little teaser movie we've put together - mainly to show you that we do have more than fake screenshots, and that development is rapidly progressing.. We hope you will enjoy the teaser! =)

There's four versions so you can choose between a faster download or a higher quality.. Smallest files listed first:

(Windows media 746 KB)
http://www.kimerastudios.com/gfx/wof_te ... teaser.wmv

(mpg1 9,071 KB)
http://www.kimerastudios.com/gfx/wof_te ... teaser.m1v

(mpg2 33,587 KB)
http://www.kimerastudios.com/gfx/wof_te ... teaser.mpg

(Quicktime 55.954 KB)
http://www.kimerastudios.com/gfx/wof_te ... teaser.mov

NB:

Even though its just a very small teaser movie I hope that some of you will bother to download the big versions to really appreciate the image quality.. There's a few graphical glitches, but they will be fixed later - we've chosen to keep focus on the gameplay first and eye-candy later.. I used a free version of fraps to capture the movie and thats why there's a "www dot fraps dot com" text in the top of the movie..

D-loaded, but it requires a codec. Getting an "error downloading codec" message.

Ok. Checked the quicktime-version. That worked.

Seems cool Dennis. Keep it going. I'm really looking forward to beta-testing. ;)

This is a pro work! 3D looks awesome and as I said, it reminds me of Striker on the Amiga. Keep it going and don't hesitate to ask for help!

Thx, glad you like it! We will of course continue the work! =)

- and especially glad "someone" bothered to dl the quicktime version, the others doesn't really do the image quality any justice..

The stadium looks very good.

I have to ask now - why the 'cutesy' men with the big heads? Just a style choice?

Thx!..

The cartoon look is a very deliberate choice.. Its supposed to send the message that its not the real thing, but "only" a game.. It also serves the purpose of differentiating it from the rest of the competition.. FIFA, PES, TIF all trying to look like tv-matches.. and finally, I just like the cartoon style..

When I played Kick Off or Sensi even, the footballers didn't appear real to me either.. they where abstract versions of real humans.. Which made it easier to connect with in the sense that I felt it was myself who played.. and not me controlling another human like FIFA emphazises.. - does that make sense?

I realise some will be put off by the cartoony style.. but we can't please everybody! =)
