So I can join the chat and talk to Stainy? This is big news. Alternatively, I could get off my arse, walk down the road and do the same thing.

Sid, you don't need MIRC to play KO2 online. Getting MIRC is only another way of doing what you were doing with retrokick and it's a little more complex.

Just played gdh82 online.

Apart from the fact that I couldn't play properly with my PS2 style PC controller, it wasn't too bad. Will be much better when my joystick adapters arrive.

Anyway, first game was 2-2. The second game de-synchronised in the second half. It happened very mysteriously just as Garry went 3-0 up.

Anyway, this loss of synchronisation was something that stopped me playing MAME stuff using Kaillera. It wasn't too bad overall, the odd pause or ten and some small lag. It will be fun when I can use a proper stick, (shit I'm starting to sound like Haydn), but I don't think it would be suitable for the rankings.

Perhaps a seperate online ranking would be cool. Didn't someone say something about that already?

Its cool that other users are playing each other now! BountyBob...do you think your joystick adaptor will arrive by Wednesday? If not, I'l delay this friendly tournament

I got mine for £9.99 from: http://www.core-digital.co.uk/product_i ... cts_id=618

Slight word of warning - I've had to send mine back because they've packed up twice!! Maybe that was just bad luck ? But don't seem as robust as the originals...

Gaz, is postage free?
Any hassles from the co in getting exchanges?
1 year warranty?

Postage free :)
Exchange no problem :) (although they said I'd used excessive force last time - who me!?)
2 yr manufacturers guarantee, I believe! :)

They were charging me £5.88 for postage!

I remember now - I bought three (1 for Si) and it came to £36.

Sorry mate - think you're right - I was getting mixed up with the free postage when they sent me a replacement!!!

My joystick adapter turned up today. Rotten luck that I'm 130 odd miles away from it so can't test it yet. Typical luck being my first day at the office for 3 weeks :x

I tried out my adapter and it just didn't work, only 1 or two positions on either stick would register. I got it from the fleamarket at sensiblesoccer.de.

Upon opening it and looking at the diagram that came with the driver instructions, I noticed that the parallel port end was wired with no similarity to the diagram. Both 9 pin plugs were fine but not the parallel port. I guess the person that made this one must have had a few too many beers. Anyway, a bit of soldering action later and it now works... Kinda.

When I load Kick Off the fire button doesn't function. Fair enough you say, my soldering is shoddy. But no. If I load MAME it works a treat, in fact I just scored 350,000+ on Mr. Do! and this fits comfortably into my top 5 scores from the old days, so no problems with anything there.

The stick also works fine in the control panel with all 4 directions and the fire button registering. But the main reason for the adapter was KO2, so I'm a bit :( at the moment. If I swap controls to keyboard I can start a game, then swap back to the stick and I can run around the field no problem, I just can't trap, pass or shoot. Needless to say, this makes Kick Off a bit tricky :D.

If I use my PC controller, the button that registers as button 1 in the control panel is the button that works in Kick Off. It's the same button 1 that shows up and registers for the Amiga stick.

Any ideas anyone? :?

Had some cracking 50fps action yesterday with Steve..
really fast and I couldn`t tell the difference between a network game and a real game!

Except when I turned off the scanner and couldn`t get it back.. and Steve changed my tactics.. and I substituted his player..
apart from that

Impressive! 8) Which server did you use Stainy?

This rings a big bell - just ask Bbob. Nearly every corner I changed his formation (by accident - its hard being player b when no one is there!)

Btw can both players pause the game or only the host?

And is it likely that a wireless connection will worsen the online game ?

Finally, how do I quit the game when Bbob next takes a 3-0 lead ?
