Impressive topscores here.
I think the absolute maximum is something like 30-0 in a 2x5min. game, because sometimes it's possible to score 3 times in one minute. But I'm not going to try to achieve that myself

To Vas, Alkis or Wonka.

When you score these 24-0 or 18-0's are they always against the same tactics or have you managed against say a 4-3-3 or 5-3-2?

I managed a 9-0 against a 5-3-2 yesterday and nearly broke my record against eh blitz (I think) except I missed one of those sitters where the keepers saves and is way off to the side of the goal, all your striker has to do is shoot and for some reason you manage to shoot it wide!! Aghh!! about 10 seconds left and I could have broken my record! Dammit!

Anyway I would really like to know about the tactics you play against cheers boys!

(Oh and is there any quick way to get the CPU to play Blitz, I have only managed to see it a few times in weeks!)

Sorry Vas and Alkis, I just read the whole topic and you have already sort of answered my questions, I guess the Blitz only occurs at about the same period of time as it takes Man U to beat the Mighty Liverpool...heh heh

As for what tactics, I presume you play against anything (except 5-3-2) which is mighty impressive.

Playing against 5-3-2 makes it hard to score lots of goals. Any other formation is always accepted.

I think my best against a static 5-3-2 (i.e. they didn't change the whole game) is 5 - 0 not bad going, you just gotta be lucky sometimes. I was playing last night and started really crap (1 - 0 vs Germany, on a Penalty then 1 - 0 vs Sweden), but then I got going, I beat Italy 5 - 0 and Scotland 5 - 0 so I was much happier !!!

I agree with you Ely & Durban. It ain't easy against 5-3-2 ALL match. My current best is 8-0 but it can be very difficult especially when things start to get bogged down in a goalmouth scramble. I'm playing on an Amiga are you lot playing emulated versions?

I'm playing on Amiga too due to lack of a fair pc stick. I'd like to try the emu for a change, but it's impossible playing with the k/b!

I'm playing with an Emulator as it's less of a hassle than setting up the Amiga in the Living room, no need in annoying the GF more than is necessary !!

I'm getting a little worried, I still haven't improved on 12-0, and Vasilis is already moving into the elite with his increasing scores.

I think the problem is, I am now a 5-3-2 user, and this isn't the very best tactic for maximising goals against the computer. I could switch to 4-2-4, but then I'd spend my time practising with a different tactic that I wouldn't use in the tournament.

I played about 6 games versus the Amiga today and felt pretty good as I was scoring some 'cheeky' goals; I even reproduced Rikki's back-line chip goal a couple of times. However my scores averaged around 6-0 to 9-0. I find that to push myself above 10-0, I have to push myself extra hard every second, and constantly go for the same one-on-one attacks. It's very hard to do this against the computer when you are mainly practising on 'autopilot'. So, I suppose I shouldn't be too bothered, but I must say that these scores are a little intimidating
