This is my first time, so please be gentle.
Right, I have both the WinUAE and winSTon emulators and the Kick Off ROMS for both. However, I can't find a way of getting my PC joystick to work properly in either the Amiga or ST versions. Playing about with the configs, the best I can get is a really jittery performance where the cursor jumps about the screen.

For example, on the menu screen of Kick Off 2 you would normally press right once and down two time to get to 'options'. However, the highlighted box flashes around and I have to force it to get to options by a combination of brute force and luck. I have calibrated my joystick in Windows, but I cannot solve this problem. Please help.
I am trying to run the game on a Pentium 233Mhz, with 95MB of RAM. Can my problem be solved or do I need more oomph?

Hi there <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif"> and welcome onboard! <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">
I think your prob might be to do with the joystick being an analoge stick? might need a digital stick or a joypad ( if you can control it ) !!
try setting your joystick up as a 2 button joystick!... let us know....

Yes,I agree with Stainy. You need to go to Control Panel> Game Controllers and configure your stick as a 2 buttons joystick.

Cheers for the speedy responses lads (and Danny I see we share a fondness for the wing wizard Sir Richard Shaw!!) but I had already tried the two-button option. I have two PCs and two joypads though so I'm going to try every possible combination.
Is it really possible to get PERFECT joystick use in the emulated Kick Offs? Now that really would be uncommonly good...

I can get perfect emulation, speed etc, on my Win98 drive...when I use my joyboard that is!... which, in essence, is a 1 button joystick really! just adapted

I just received my 2 Greek sticks and splitter from Saint-Ex. They are great!
Yes, Becks, they could have been yours...

I play KO2 using WinUAE and the joysticks work perfectly! Now all I have to do is buy some soda, crisps and invite some friends to compete in a full-blown Kick Off competition!!!
