Some long range goals are ok, i mean ones just outside the box I have no probs with them. Shots from near half-way line are easy to do and unbalence the gameplay. For instance, everytime you get a kick off you can attempt a goal from it, one out of 3 times u will score..;

I Agree! It's very booring when you have scored a fantastic goal and your opponent do that shitgoal emideately after the kick off.

Me and My friends have forbidden that goal so noone is allowed to do them anymore.

It's really not that difficult to score with a long ball using the keyboard. I've done so many times. Even diagonal ones.

Mostly it's one of my defenders that scores like that just before the final whistle. So I don't mind goals like that at all!
As long as I am the one scoring them ofcourse <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif">

The problem with forbidding goals is that everyone has a different opinion on what should or should not count. Some people hate long shots, some people hate the wait-till-keeper's out-release-button move, and some hate it when one scores the same goal over and over, no matter what that is! So I say let them all count.. and I'm not saying it out of personal interest. Before the Dartford tournament, I was defending the right to score long shots with my life, however only a handful of my 79 goals were long shots. Kick Off 2 is not a diving contest, we can't have judges decide!

Lets all agree that when the ball crosses the line its a goal.Thats how it works in real life.I say the 1 meg version of kick off 2 should be the standard for the tourneys,as lets face it overhead kicks are part of football.If not what next?Shall we dissallow the dodgy throw ins and goals that hit the back of the crossbar and go in?
Kick off 2 is full of bugs so if we let them stand then we should let the 1 meg version stand also.You know it makes sense.

I say!

Play as you want and I play as I want. If neither me or my friends who I play with like the longshootgoals emideately after the KICK OFF so why should we allow them. We think that we have more fun wiht KO2 if we don't allow them.

I have never said that you should dissallow them in the tournaments............

You have a point, setting up rules between friends is easy and you can do it if that makes your gaming experience better. For example, I remember in the good old days, I used to play the whole World Cup competition with a friend, and I'd always take the weakest team.
Tournament rules should be more generic and easily applied, though.

A goal is a goal no matter how it was made. I sound like Macciavelli would sound in such an occasion here, but if the ref says it's in, then it's in!
