Until either that link is restored or we have a better solution, for now just
- Install WinUAE from here : http://www.winuae.net/frames/download.html
- Use the latest ADF from here : http://home.broadpark.no/~scamber/
Report back!

Re: Play Kick Off 2 on your PC -- Quick Step Guide
Hey everyone,
So I have a quick update. First of all, I'd like to personally thank Steve and Jørn, who personally took their time and helped me a lot with the baby steps and how to get the game running.
I am using a custom made desktop PC that is hooked to my HDTV with HDMI cable. I also use MotionJoy that allows me to use PS3/DS3 controller. So I use left analogue stick to run and X button to pass/shoot etc.
I will not lie, but as of now - it is nearly impossible to run down with the ball or make a decent pass as you need to be PIN POINT on it. I dont know how all of you are able to string 1-2-3 passes or run up down, left and right without losing the ball. KO2 is about 100 times more difficult to play and master than SWOS. But I still like the damn game even after a practice match and exhibition. I will need a few months of practicing this unreal game.
Question - what joystick could I buy that would be easier to control the player...i feel as DS3 is waaaay sensitive and one wrong swing and your losing the ball...
How can I improve my very basic skills that I seem to lack. ?
Thanks a lot
Cheers

Mate, you're most welcome
I'd sure say you need to get a proper joystick indeed. But anyway, note that the Kick Off games are nothing like all the other footy-games. It IS hard to master.
I don't know the totally correct search term, but I guess something like "arcade joystick" would be a start...

Re: Play Kick Off 2 on your PC -- Quick Step Guide
Thats bud. Will definitely buy one. It blows my mind that almost 25 yrs or so and games like KO are STILL better than any garbage Konami and EA release today. I hope to god that KOR, Sociable Soccer do well and take over the market like they did in the past. Why did the gaming industry in general change where a player does not care about the actual gameplay part and the fun of it instead focus on graphics and how Messi and Ronaldo look. If you just visit any popular PES forum or FIFA such as EvoWeb, PESGaming etc you will realize one thing. Most of the players complain and ask for improvements in these areas:
Graphics
Licenses
More Stadia
More teams
And gameplay always comes last. I don't know know if we are just bunch of old timers living in the past or are todays kids really blinded by what the industry is doing. Gaming world has changed big time as with everything else. Bad movies, music is crap, but gaming shouldn't of changed. I really hope that KOR and SS get heavily promoted and that at least todays kids realize what they were missing all these years and how blind they are. I am 32 yrs of age NEVER touched KO or SWOS. Never owned Amiga, Atari or any of the 80s and 90s consoles until N64. And Right out of the bat I think KO and SWOS piss all over PES and FIFA. PES 5 was fun and is still fun to this day as it holds a strong community with an online play but man oh man. Games like KO, SWOS and Counter Strike 1.6 will never die.

Hi Everyone, I recently joined the forum and I hope to set up KO2 on my pc at home.
I have a question for the ADF link Steve Camber posted. Is this the "official" KO2 emulator used in the tournaments ?
Best Regards
-Jan

Hi Jan!
Grab the latest ADF from http://playkickoff.com/KO2CV/
We use real Amigas for tournaments.
I personally use WinUAE when I want to run KO2CV on my PC.

Thank you very much Steve, I will set it up ASAP
Re: Play Kick Off 2 on your PC -- Quick Step Guide
For what it's worth, I use Amiga Forever, because I'm too lazy to configure WinUAE.

Has Amiga forever got an integrated debugger?
