I completely agree.

The results are saved in this manner to allow Alkis to more easily import them into the rankings database. It takes a lot of work for him to update the rankings each month and a comma seperated file makes it very easy for him to import the results. That was why the results are saved in this manner.

A better save format for the forum is on my to do list. It's not hard to do, I just need to be bothered.

Thanx a lot for the new version Mark.

With more and more you can do now with fixture, girls have to read the manuel very carefully before using it

Is it possible Bbob for your fine fixture program to vary the order of the fixtures so they're not always determined by the input order ? Based on a 4-man (A,B,C,D) league x2 the fixtures are generated as follows:

D,-1,A,-1,
B,-1,C,-1,

B,-1,D,-1,
C,-1,A,-1,

D,-1,C,-1,
A,-1,B,-1,

A,-1,D,-1,
C,-1,B,-1,

D,-1,B,-1,
A,-1,C,-1,

C,-1,D,-1,
B,-1,A,-1,

How do-able would it be to mix up the order so that DvA and BvC were sometimes but not always the first fixtures ? Be great to have a more random fixture list if possible - imagine the anticipation when hitting the 'done' button! :)

It's obviously doable but like all the other doable items, don't hold your breath!

I was just typing a long explanation about why it's not as trivial a change as it might first seem, when I realised an extraordinarily simple way to do it. Stupidly easy in fact. However, it's still more work than you inputting the players in a different order, so you can make do with that for now. :D

That's a fair point and tbh it's what I've been doing - rank, reverse rank, name, or reverse name order - when I can remember anyway. I still know tho that it'll be 1v4 and 2v3 each time...

Great that you've had a brainwave on how to do this easily too. I've since thought that this enhancement could also make accusations of fixture rigging a thing of the past too - we could all blame you instead! ;)

Anyway, thanks for considering this, Mark! :)

See, this is what happens when you spend too much time getting under the skin of how things work. You couldn't just enjoy it for what it was could you? :P

Here's a challenge for you Garry, can you find the obscure bug that was recently reported to me?

Actually I heard this quote again the other day and thought of KO2CV....

Some look at things that are, and ask why. I dream of things that never were and ask why not?

Hmmm... this'll be a real toughie... any clues? Is it to do with the fixtures or the table ?

A small update in the making. Trying to come up with a save format for the results that looks nice when posted on the forums. See here for more info: (3rd post in the thread).

Great job! Check this out, I tried it with the results of our last tournament and as you can see it looks great.

What about my suggestion of the BMP being no wider than 680 pixels so that it can be posted in the forum as it is?
