Can we delete this before Waynie reads it? I'm now living in fear of some exceedingly long matches.

 btw it's random, sometimes the ball move slowly into the goal sometimes move in the opposite direction, if you wait til the ball goes into the goal it's a 100% goal.
Goal is scored only when the player touch the ball inside the goal, I demontrated that to Gunther because he didn't want to believe us

In the old days once we keep open a game all the night and let the ball slowly move through all the field to the own goal and in the morning after we scored an own goal   that was wacky!!

1 in a coloured screen crash

Can you elaborate?

Code: Select all

If int(rnd*100) > 98 then
   crash and display a coloured screen;

It's some redundant code. When the game crashes, you get a coloured screen giving a hint as to where the problem lies.
Some old code in there seems to have flashed the screen random colours after a crash for some reason!

I tested it today: while KO2 was loading from disk. the disk was broken and KO2 crashed dawn and it stopped the loading.
there wasn't the GURU MEDITATION but random colours appared on the screen (insede borders of the screen). and insede the title picture!
Nice one! now I know the reason of these colours! :D

I kept one on at work for around a year. It was a few years ago when I used to get my daily "death by lobbing" from Dan Lobberman Secker.
No fires noticed.

It's left on because of the stupid design of the machine where the OnOff Switch is located on the PowerSupply rather than on the machine. Given then nest of wires the PSU lives in it's far to much hassle to turn it off there, and I don't really like just pulling the power cable out the back.

Silly silly design! The Atari ST was much better FFS :)

7 in penalty kick (AI?)

I have an idea about PKs.
sometimes the goalkeeper doesn't dive to stop the ball even if you move the joystick. may you have a look on those random factor? maybe that the reason about these no dives is in those 7 random factor...
I'm sure the reason isn't in my joystick. :)

I have looked at the code.

The random element in the goalie save is purely for the CPU goalie.

For the human save, the direction must already be selected at the time that the fire button is pressed... Pressing the fire button and then moving the joystick 1 frame later is not good enough as the goalie will not jump.
