Just an idea for future i know its been discussed but could you force the keepers to have to kick the ball when its passed back to them , no picking up passbacks etc. Wouldnt really change the game as its just speeding things up

The backpass rule has already been implemented, the keepers won't pick up a ball kicked by their team.

Do they actually kick the ball, or just let it go past them (and into the goal!)?

They let it roll into the goal at the moment

Funny stuff! :D

Can we expect this to be a temporary measure, or will every team have a Paul Robinson in goal?

Just quickly tried this out and ITS BRILLANT!!! Thank you Steve! :)

On the one hand the gameplay is exactly the same but on the other, those annoying moments where your best placed player goes AWOL through an auto slide or auto header, don't happen anymore!! For me the game feels more solid, more stable now and I feel more in control of my players! Removing autoslides allows for more constructive game play and therefore more possibilites...

I strongly believe this makes the great game even better 8) and I'd urge all players to try this option out for yourself!

Scanner-only mode
Useless but interesting. A debug feature which has been hidden inside the code, I have added an option in the KO2CV menu to enable it.

This might be something that was needed for Player Manager.. where you can view match on scanner only :)

Nice additions Stevie :) I`ll be checking this out tonight..

Whats next on your KO2 plate ?

I imagine the high speed scanner-only mode was used by Dino for developing/testing the AI. Maybe watching a CPU vs CPU match making sure everything's working ok. It could well exist in PM and even KO1.
I first saw the scanner-only mode during a friendly game with Wonka in Stoke. Somehow it had switched itself on so I knew it was in there somewhere!

I don't know what's going to appear in 0.94. Schedules and milestones are something I much prefer to leave in the workplace ;)

Steve !! seems like when I have the free kick option on... where ever I press F3 in the opponents half.. my team always takes the freekick at the centre circle ( where you kick off from ) ?

Have you set the position with F2 first?

Human speedup off
Finally I have tracked down the speed advantage that human players have vs CPU players. It can be switched off to make 1 player games more challenging.

Autoslides off option
An option in the KO2CV menu will prevent your team from doing auto slides or auto headers. This does not include the unintentional slide when trying to trap the ball with an opponent nearby.

Impressive.

To save me trawling through the history of this mod how come overhead kicks and offsides from final whistle arent in here ?

Also I've been playing final whistle on winuae and CPU strategy seems much more advanced than in KO2CV.

Attacking for instance in KO2 seems to be mainly get the ball on the wing and lob a cross in.

not dissing the work thats being done in anyway just noticed thats all.

cheers

KO2CV is based on the initial releases of KO2, the ones everybody has played at some point. Not everyone is familiar with the later releases, which is why they are not used in standard tournaments.
