new kid on the pitch!

Postby gdh82 » Mon May 29, 2006 8:19 am

Hi ! This is my first post on the forum although I've been mad (or is that sad ) about KO2 for some time. Firstly back in my amiga days but more recently via the WinUAE emulator and KO2 is the most played game by some distance!

I've always rated KO2 - a "high skill" game in my book. As much as I love it, it drives me mad too even though I keep coming back for more ???? :? I've got a number of queries about KO2 game play and some of its quirks which I'd like to post in future.

I can't honestly see myself making the grade for any of your tournaments (strictly a soggy pitch player, I'm afraid!) although maybe I could pick up some tips to at least improve my game? I'm also impressed that there's a competition version of KO2 that I'm pleased continues to be tweaked - there's life in the old dog yet!!! I've got a couple of ideas and suggestions myself but I'd better wade through the incredibly long wish-list thread first!!

Anyway, really glad to see that KO in its many versions is alive and kicking still today! Long may it continue.... (feel like some simple minds now 8))

Cheers
Garry

Don't rule out competing in one of our tournaments. It's great fun :)

Garry, don't worry mate....there are about 20-30 active players in the UK and most of them are RUBBISH!!!

What are you doing on July 29th? You should come to the UK championship in Manchester. It's a brilliant way to spend a Saturday and there are a few guys going up from the Birmingham area who could surely help you out with transport. It doesn't matter that you don't know anyone...that's how we all started. Take a look in the tournaments forum.

And welcome!

Thanks for the reponses, guys - its appreciated :)

Thanks also for the mention of the UK tournament - I'm interested but need to work some things out my end (kids and partner, not least!) so I'll look into it and see what I can do...

Welcome aboard!

Please mention any features you can think of to incorporate into KO2. I'll probably just say no, but you never can be sure ;)

Get to the UK champs. I always used to use soggy pitch, but this normal pitch is just fine. We all have to make some adjustments one way or another, it's no big deal. It's still the beautiful game :)

Welcome Garry!

- You´re lucky living in the UK with plenty of active players within (fairly) short distance :)

Now, at last, I understand why you instinctively keep the ball off the ground.
