What makes this humble little game so appealing to so many?In my opinion the easy to grasp gameplay yet difficult to master skills. Why has it lasted so long the love of the game to so many people? Will it ever lose its fanbase or will KO02 kill it off forever?I doubt it,i feel the game of kick off2 will remain in our hearts for many years to come,or as long as working amigas exist.

Right said mate. A game played by one player only cannot be so attractive for such a long time. On the other hand the playability of KO makes a GREAT difference from all "the rest" footies. <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

The beauty of KO2 is that it is Raw.

You don't need combos and you don't need fancy moves, everything you do down to every goal you score is in your control.

Its the openness of the play, the fact that no goal is the same, even if similar there is still something different.

Its the fact you are free to run or shoot, and the players don't have to be super fast to be good, they can have other skills as well.

Its the fact that no other game truly proves a good player in the way they play against others. In Fifa and all those games you just need to know tricks to win, its normally the arcade and beatem up gamers who are good at fifa, they no the ways to score and the ways to beat players. In KO2 you have to appreciate football, it is basic in its complexity, it plays the same was a a real footballer would think. You look for space, you look for breaks, you don't just throw yourself in for a tackle with the tackle button, you wait and jockey the player in case he goes past you when you try to challenge him. Its like a game of chess in super super super duper fast speed settings.

To look at it its nothing special, all the players look the same and the pitch is just a big green thing (without any centre circle or arc on the ST!!!) And yet you don't notice, you are too overwhelmed by the obsession to play nice football and pass it around to bother with what it looks like, its as if you don't actually see the screen you just feel the gameplay.
Its the way where you are clean through you don't think "Oh I will use the low shot button as that always works!" you actually don't think at all you just let reactions take over and either shoot first time, or try to shimmy and beat the keeper, or maybe lay it off to the other player.

Its all instinctive, for those who play football regularly and ko2 will know what I mean, in a real footy match I go clean through and I swear the same thoughts and feelings go through my mind, I just know at the exact moment what I am going to do and do it, I can't explain it, its real football.

It is a classic, a masterpiece, and I belive KO2002 will be a similar feeling.

I'll get me coat...

I know another that brings more excitement, in which you can also score a lot, from different positions, and... errrr... sorry, wrong forum!
